A 2001 Yamaha YZ125 would not fit this skid plate. It appears that Acerbis does not offer a skid plate that will fit the model you have.
A skid plate on this bike is the same as the one on my other bike.

It offers good coverage and works well. The wishbone pivot extends past the end. If they were thicker and easier to put on and take off, oil changes would be quicker.
It's easy to get on and off for maintenance and fits well.

Having this feature on a motorcycle is a great idea.
Although I was in need of a skidplate, I wanted to keep my bike as lightweight as possible. It looked like composite might be the way to go, but unfortunately Acerbis and Cyrca don't offer any for my bike. I purchased three skidplates from Chapperel to see which one I could modify to fit my bike. The one on the left was my favorite based on appearance. I was surprised to find that it fit perfectly when I put it on. A perfect alignment can be seen even in the oil drain cutout! There is even room for the side cases and rear link. You can find photos in the attachments. I'm afraid it does not fit the Honda but it fits perfectly for the Suzuki! My graphics match the blue, and I love the font.
