This is a very easy to install product. I spent less than 10 minutes on the task. No one would need instructions, according to me. Even though it says so in the product description. This is a software-only problem. Three bolts were surprising to me, so I was surprised. In the event those bolts came with nuts and washers, I would have given them a 5 star rating. Several bolts, nylon locking nuts, and lock washers were purchased. I bought two 3/8" X 1" bolts, 2 nylon locking nuts, and one 5/16" X 1" bolt, along with a matching nylon locking nut, It was 6 days sooner than expected that the product would arrive. My reviews of it are raving because of the price. However, I also did not have an issue with the hardware I used for installation. I do not think I would actually be putting my feet up on them, like at highway bars. (Almost lost a star for that) It looks much better than I expected for the price I paid. So far, I'm very happy with my purchase. (I'm too short and they're too narrow) It was a perfect fit for my 2013 Harley Davidson Heritage Softtail.
I would have preferred if nuts were provided, but my local hardware store has no trouble fixing it. Furthermore, I needed high-quality glass, which was a Mate finish. Once again, the problem is resolved by applying some clear coat to the automotive glass. In general, I am happy with how the construction turned out. Note that when it arrived the two lower mounts were sticking out of the box. NO BUBBLE WRAP was used to keep them in the box therefore, both mounting plates were silver and beat to a pulp. I have again run to the hardware store to get Therefore, I have now invested an additional $35 above the cost of the crash bars and I am still ahead of what HD wants for the same crash bars.
I received the delivery on time and the product met my expectations. As I don't have the hardware to complete the installation, I'm giving this a 4 out of 5. The installation process was straightforward, though. The product I purchased was fine, and I am glad I got it. The 2017 Harley Softail is fitted with it.
I love how it fits my 05 Fatboy. A simple installation process takes only a few minutes.
I like the way the product is packaged, it looks good, and the three bolts are included. I was disappointed not to see nuts for the bolts that held the bar to the frame. A notification was sent to the seller but he did not respond. The only thing that needs improving is the due diligence on providing complete items for the product. Otherwise, all is good. I had to go to a hardware store to acquire compatible nuts. The cost is not the issue, it's the diligence on providing complete items. As a result of missing NUTS, I took a single star away.
The rubber on the bars slide with your legs on them, and the bolts did not come with nuts. Fit my 2010 heritage softail classic just fine. These worked for the trip from Florida to Seattle, but while we were there the rubber fell off the bars.
I got the crash bar from JP Cycles, and it weighs about half as much as the one I got from Kawasaki. While mounting it, there was a small chip of paint from the mounting. The only matte black option I found seems to be the right fit for what I'm looking for.
