Questions & Answers

Adhesive is it included with the product?

It is not available at an auto parts store, but you can purchase a tube for $5 at an auto parts store. The one I have been using has held up well the past season without complaining.

It measures how thick it is ?

In reality, the metal is very thin, probably less than a sixteenth of an inch thick, and that's all you need. You don't need anything heavy, just a lighter gauge to prevent damage to the case. As a result, I used double-sided tape to install it so that a little cushion is also left.

Is it possible that these would fit a DR650?

I am sorry, but that might not work.

Which thickness does it have?

I would like to know the thickness of

You pay for what you get with a 5mm thick board
3/5

In the first place, I'm disappointed to learn that these are not 2mm as claimed in the question section by the seller. I have vernier calipers that show them at 1" each. This is the thickest part of the laminate. A number of other issues plague the alignment as well. It looks fine on the clutch side cover. For the alternator cover, my pictures tell more than words. As far as I know, these are the least expensive ones available. Unfortunately, the manufacturing is so bad that it is almost impossible to sell. In fact, it wouldn't be difficult to align the tooling accurately so that these sidecovers fit. There are no proportional discrepancies in the Suzuki sidecovers, so what's the problem with getting these stamped correctly? It would have been ideal if the slots had been shaved by 1/16" in those areas. As well, unlike the pictures, the inside of the covers I received have the same sandblasted finish as the outside, which would help the sealant adhere better.

Designed to protect you in case of a crash
5/5

After installing these on my DRZ400, I took a pretty hard fall. The bike landed on the shift lever, which was forced into the side of the case cover, where a large dent now exists. My case was saved by them as they performed as expected. It would have been unsafe if these weren't installed, since the case would have been punctured, and then I would have lost my oil. It is only a small downside that they are a bit expensive, but I couldn't find them anywhere else for a lower cost. The silver looks great on the DRZ. I wonder if I can stencil some art on them to add a little more character. In addition, using high temp RTV I purchased at Wal-Mart, I was able to install them in just over 30 minutes Towards the end of the process, it was necessary to use the full tube of RTV and a half tube of RTV for the small plate.

It is sufficient
3/5

The parts had to be ground to fit and RTV had to be applied liberally. It is quite easy to reshape aluminum since it is quite soft. surface finish of the bead blasted surface is a bit cheesy. If I could have, I would like the finish to be smooth. If you are overly concerned with look, or you don't play with dremels, please do not buy these. Then you should order these if you are not vain and you are too cheap to buy the Thumpertalk ones (which, in my opinion, are overpriced). In all honesty, I haven't put these to the test to see how they hold up, but I do find that I have enough RTV between these and my case, that I should be fine for general tip-overs and.

I was able to save my case because of these case savers
5/5

The DRZ 400 SM is fitted with these. While I parked in a parking lot, I was struck by someone who rear-ended my bike and knocked it over hard. If it hadn't been for these case savers, I'd have probably broken my shift lever. The first set of mine got destroyed (see picture). I decided to purchase a second set. The product is great and the price is great. I would highly recommend it!.

I would have liked it if the right case saver side was better
3/5

This is the left-hand side of the case with notches around the perimeter. I would have liked it if the right case saver side was better. On the left case saver side, there was a notch on the perimeter and a hole in the center that had been stamped/bent backward. I'm sure that the case guard could have been modified, but it wouldn't be worth it since extra notches would have compromised My order has been returned and I have ordered Thumped talk case savers for the.

This product is now a dark gold color rather than black
3/5

It is still worth the money spent. It had to be bent a little to fit on the stator side cover, but it looks great. My luck hasn't been such that I was able to test this product's I have updated It was June when they were put on now that it is October, they are no longer black but gold in It was hit by a car and slammed on the left side at roughly 30 MPH. The only thing it did was scratch the finish and give the guard a slight scratch. That being said, I'm keeping them on no matter what the color is, they work good.

This is an excellent product
5/5

The left side has already taken a good beating from my shifter and still works perfectly. On the DRZ 400S, I installed the OS. I'm very glad these were the first things I installed on my bike. The bike goes down like a second wife.

This is a very cheaply made item
3/5

Besides looking cheap and having a strange texture, they also feel cheap. As for my bike, I will not mount them. I have decided to pony up the extra money and buy them from ThumperTalk instead.
