Chrome Harley-Davidson Stock Style Screw-In Vented Gas Cap Sportster style gas caps are vented and are made of chromed steel. This vented cap fits single-cap model gas tanks or the right-side gas cap and replaces Harley-Davidson OEM 61272-91A 92A.

My Sportster's old tank liner was stripped out and resealed. Following that, I discovered that my bike idled well when the tank was full and poorly when the tank was empty. After reading on the internet that damaged or worn fuel caps can affect tank ventilation, I decided to replace the old gas cap with this one. The problem was resolved as a result of this.

The paint on the gas tank has been scratched

It does its job, but it makes contact with the tank, scratching my paint. If you're looking to replace a stock Harley gas cap, I'd recommend a Kuryakyn.

On my HD Sportster 1200 Custom, I neglected to secure the gas cap. I replaced it with a low-cost option. I'd never been content before. This new gas cap is an exact match for the original. For now. I won't know for sure if it rusts until it's been a few years. My other HD has a 17-year-old cap on it. There isn't a single speck of rust on the whole thing.

It's not going to be able to keep its grip. As you drive down the road, the gas cap retracts. Every 40-minutes or so, I'd have to tighten. 50 miles. It recently became a part of nature.

Don't buy; I double-checked the fitment and it fits a Harley-Davidson Road King from the year 1996 and up. My custom paint was ruined as a result of it. I'm hoping they'll be able to correct the problem. Please don't fall victim to this! I've already replied.
