You must know whether you need a vented gas cap or an unvented one

I was very pleased with the fit and finish of the gas cap. Just make sure you know whether you need a vented gas cap or not. The gas cap I ordered was not vented and I needed a vented one, so I had to drill a hole through the base and up through the bottom to connect the hole I drilled to the base hole.

This Road King Gas Cap fits on a vehicle

However, there is no ratcheting mechanism within the cap, such as in the original. There is nothing to fault with the chrome finish. With sharp edges, this is a well-made piece. It is a bit much for the styling of the Road King, but I will keep it and use it. Originals have the right sense of nostalgia, and they are really what the world needs today.

I have a RGS with a dash aftermarket and it fit perfectly. There is some sharpness in its cutting edge, but with Arthiritic hands it is quite easy to use.
