Steps that are extremely attractive
5/5

These steps are fantastic, as many other reviews have stated. Despite the fact that the instructions are nearly useless, they provide enough information to figure out how to install. You should be able to figure it out if you have a racket, an extension, and a 13 mm socket. My only issue was that some small bits of slag stuck to the outermost threads on the steps during the factory's welding of the internal supports, making threading the bolts from beneath the truck impossible. Before I could install the steps, I had to pull the first one, remove the slag, and run the threads. Once that was done, the steps went on like stink on a bad dog. The total time was one minute and forty-five seconds. 5 hours, plus time spent deciphering the instructions.

It looked fantastic, was easy to put together, and was very sturdy
3/5

However, after two years, it had become severely rusted. Although this unit was more expensive than others, the quality appeared to be good, and I liked the look. I found it to be exactly what I needed. The installation was simple, and I liked how they looked on my truck. I was going to give this a 4 star rating. 5 stars. br>br>However, after only two years, rust spots began to appear all over, which was odd because I live in a relatively dry climate and rarely go off-road. It's on the road with you. The rust has now worsened after three years. I had it inspected by a body shop to see if it could be sandblasted and repainted. They said it was too far gone to be painted, so I did. They were surprised at how badly it had rusted after such a short life, and while I would like to replace it with the same model, it is not worth nearly $500. As a result, I have to give it two stars because of the high price and short lifespan.

Very let down
3/5

They appear to be attractive in photographs and videos on websites, but buyers should be cautious. These photos of received steps demonstrate the high level of quality that Westin allows! Over grinding with no regard for going back and smoothing out, which results in amature welds at best. All I can say is that I am extremely dissatisfied with the quality of the work. Consider how a business could allow this work to be sold without regard for the customer. Welding, grinding, sandblasting, powder coating, final inspection, and wrapping/packaging are just a few of the processes. Everyone involved in the process agrees that the work is good enough to sell to the end user. br>I'm disappointed, and I'm curious as to where your professional pride is.

For the quality, it's a little on the pricey side

On Westin's website, they were recommended for a 2021 Toyota Tacoma Double Cab (part number 12775). The mounting brackets fit, but even when adjusted all the way back, the front of the running boards hit the welded seam of the truck body on both the driver's and passengers' sides. I just chopped off a chunk of the running boards and sprayed on a few coats of spray-on bed liner because I'm fairly handy. br>br>Overall, I wouldn't recommend these because they aren't the cheapest, and I had to modify and repaint all of the parts just to keep it from rusting away in one winter. They do, however, appear to be sturdy and could be useful. Only time will tell if this is true.

It's attractive and well-made
4/5

This would have gotten a perfect 5 star rating if not for the lack of installation instructions. Don't be alarmed by this. All you have to do is take a look at what you're up against. It was simple to install because the holes on the parts and the holes on the vehicle matched up. The illustrations aren't much better. I would recommend putting the mounts on the rail before attaching it to the truck, as well as mounting the middle bracket first and then moving to the front, because the front on each side was a little more difficult to attach to the truck (on the Tacoma, at least). Overall, it appears to have been a good investment. Unlike the last time I bought side rails, I went with the less expensive option.

It's a very nice product that's also very simple to put together
5/5

These will be installed in my 2018 Toyota Tacoma TRD Offroad 2x Cab. From start to finish, the installation was a breeze. It took me about 45 minutes. You will need a socket extension for your torque wrench because the metal brackets make it nearly impossible to get your wrench on straight. I recommend having help, but I was able to do it alone with no problems. They're extremely durable and stylish. My only quibble (and it's a minor one) is that the black powder coating on the TRD Offroad should be a shade darker to match the black factory fenders. Overall, this is a must-have!.

Westin HDX drop steps are fantastic
5/5

For my 2013 Tacoma double cab, I got these in textured black. They did arrive with some damage, but I'm not sure who is to blame because the box was completely torn in half as if ripped apart by stress, the Fed Ex guy was attempting to persuade me not to check them, he said he checked them and they were fine, and his shirt was untucked and unbuttoned to the bottom of his chest!! WOW! Westin, on the other hand, had done an excellent job of wrapping and packaging them. They were also simple to install by myself, and the flat black textured look looks fantastic on my all-black truck. I've been wearing them for a few months and they don't feel flimsy. I wanted something other than the N Fab ones; not that there's anything wrong with them, but they seem to be on every truck in my town. These appear to be expensive, and you can see photos of them on my truck and packaging if you search for irisharmalite on Instagram. I'd buy them again in a heartbeat!.
