Questions & Answers

Will the 2018 Maverick Trail 800 be a success?

715003689 is the part number you're looking for, and it's for the Maverick Trail. Simply put your year and machine into the search box, and this will appear.

Is this also compatible with the 2014 Can Am Maverick?

It will, in fact. I recently installed a set of wheels on my 2014 Maverick.

Are these compatible with the 2017 Commander Mossy Oak Hunting Edition?

They ought to be fairly simple.

According to my understanding, the bottom two bolts have predrilled holes in the frame. What are you mounting to when drilling the third hole? Is it easy to get to?

One of the seatbelt bolts will have to be used. Remove the seatbelt bolt, align the rock slider with the seatbelt hole, and replace the bolt.

The product is, in general, excellent
4/5

It takes about 2 hours to complete the installation. The product is, in general, excellent. It takes about 2 hours to complete the installation. In an ideal world, you'd be able to. . . the bolts that are required - a pair on each side - would have been a part of the bars. Furthermore, in a perfect world, It would have been helpful if there had been a template that showed where the three holes should be drilled. The bars were delivered without bolts or instructions. While it was not particularly difficult to figure out in the end, a single sheet of paper with instructions would have made the installation much easier and faster. br>br>Hint for those planning on purchasing them: All of the holes in the cart's frame have been pre-drilled. drilled - To allow the bolts to pass through to the bars, simply drill three holes in the plastic mud guard that is currently in place. The third and final bolt is is able to use the seatbelt mounting bolts, which I believe are 8MM in diameter. I believe I used the 1 1/4" length, if my memory serves me correctly.

Looks good, works well, but could use some improvement in directions
4/5

I bought these for my Can Am Commander 1000xt from 2015. Thankfully, I spoke with some other can am owners and devised a better method of installation than the BRP instructions. You can mark the hole fairly precisely from the inside of the plastic with a hot nail and a vise grip. It's a lot better than using those dreadful templates. br>I had to trim one bar because the rear tire would hit it at full suspension drop; I simply used a portable band saw to cut them on the buggy with no problems. In general, I'm pleased.

Both the product and the company are excellent
5/5

These were purchased and installed over a period of time. It took about 30 minutes to complete the installation. I only needed 45 minutes per side and wasn't in a rush. Solid construction and a good fit. One of the caps was missing, so I sent an email requesting a replacement. I'd been offering to get a new one for months. One was sent out to me for free! Excellent customer service and a fantastic product!.

My son will be overjoyed with his Christmas present
5/5

We bought this for our son for Christmas because he has a 2019 Canucks season ticket. I am the Chief of Staff. In about an hour, he and a friend had them installed, and the machine looks great with them.

Rock sliders are awesome, but the hole templates are terrible
4/5

I just finished installing it on my 2012 Commander LTD. br>Excellent sliders; however, better templates for marking holes are required (the top hole is the worst). br>The previous reviewer was spot on when he said, "First-off, either throw the instructions away or use it to start your fire. " I used the template on a top hole on one side, and the top hole was off by 1/2 inch (if I had held the rock slider up where it was to be mounted prior to drilling that hole, I would have seen that the template hole was way off adjusted, and it would have been fine like the other side)br>br>So I recommend you put the two long bolts (supplied with the rock sliders in my case) in the two bottom holes (from the back side-underside), you can then mark Then, for your up and down location, measure about 11/16 of an inch (the previous post said 5/8, but that seemed a little low to me). Once one bottom hole is drilled and exposed, measure center hole to hole on the rock slider and use that measurement as a reference point for the second bottom hole location. This should be very close to the line you drew from the bottom, which you mentioned earlier. You can hold the rock slider up to the side of the machine and get a much better idea of where the top hole needs to be drilled once the two bottom holes have been marked and drilled out. br>br>It's not a bad idea to use a hot nail, but it's difficult to keep the nail level in the hole.

I wanted all the right parts for my can am, and this one was and continues to be the best
5/5

It has saved me from rocks hitting the can am several times already. It has some dents, but I do go over a lot of rocks here in Arizona. If you're looking for a good rock guard for your can am, this is a good option to consider.

First and foremost, either discard or use the instructions
5/5

To begin, either throw the instructions away or use them to start your fire, then elevate your commander so you can see beneath it. There are two locations where holes exist on the underside frame; mark straight across to the plastic surface- From there, measure 5/8" straight up. After drilling pilot holes, use a 1 1/16 hole saw to finish the job. To frame, clean punched holes were punched into the plastic. Lower brackets are not bolted in place, so slide against the side. Place your apparent location in the upper third of the screen. Using a pilot/hole saw, drill through as before. Only begin bolting with the lower bolts, then attach the upper bolts and tighten 18 fpt to each bolt; total installation time is about 45 minutes. for the two sliders.

Non-Combatant Commander Fit
3/5

I wish I could have installed them, but the construction of our Commander prevents access behind the rocker panel. They are of excellent quality, and it is a pity they will not function. We tried to get them to work after the seller was extremely helpful, but they were forced to return.
