Questions & Answers
Uncertainty is what I feel. If you have a 2019 model, be sure to choose the frame cradle for it. But honestly, I wouldn't recommend this product to anyone. BBR products never fit properly and are expensive. The cradle I bought for my lightly used 125 didn't fit at all. I have purchased several numerous items from BBR over the years, but none have fit properly and none are affordable. To make it work, I had to modify it quite a bit.
I have no trouble fitting it onto my 2014 LE. Yamaha did not change the bike from then to now, in my opinion
I have a 2021 with stock exhaust, and this product does not fit
It is a frame cradle for a TTR125, and it fits perfectly. These frames cradles are bike specific, so be careful when retrofitting another bike to them, as they will only fit the bike they were designed If you have any questions, you can call BBR direct.

I expected it to fit when I bought it. As I stated before, the holes lined up just fine but the exhaust would not adhere to the skid plate. I had to remove it and install it again and it was not difficult to do, but eventually the skid plate did not want the exhaust to be attached. It fits, but the part of the skid plate that connects to the holes was too thick and I had to file down the part to get it to fit (not the bottom part, just the part that connects to the holes) I was sick of trying to fill it, so I did not stuff anymore. I am satisfied with it as it works as it should and all the holes are aligned properly. Having it on my bike for a while now, the only thing that I don't like is that, when I hit a stick, for example with the skid plate, it bounces. As well as this, it gives me some peace of mind knowing that my motor won't be affected. As a matter of fact, the only thing I wish was that I didn't need to file down the part that was in the way of the exhaust. So, this product wasn't worth the 150 if I knew I was going to have to do that then I would pay $50 maximum. While I wish I had also found a different skid plate, my opinion is that it's overpriced and too much of a hassle.
There's nothing I like better than this BBR cradle. I find it looks great and the frame support appears stronger than before. One of my major complaints is the width of the screen. Unlike the original plastic guard, it is not as wide as the engine. It is smaller than the engine cover, so both sides obstruct your view of the engine. Despite the engine being protected, I still don't know whether it's completely secured. This product should be wider for the price, though buying from this seller was a good deal, and it was It is a minimalistic set of instructions, but they are fine. Installing it wasn't easy, but if you wait until the very end to tighten stuff up you should be able to get it in. I encountered a problem during installation because of the exhaust pipe on the front it was difficult to slide the front frame screws in and line things up There were also welded nuts on the back of the bike that made it difficult for the rear to line up properly. Also, there are three slots in the front and a closed off back that are filled with mud when wet. It appears that the oil plug fits perfectly into the holes on the front, but mud seems to fill in at Nevertheless, you can spray the mud off once you have finished the ride. I like the product, and I feel good knowing that I can reduce some of the frame stress on the motor by using it. It's a product I would buy again and I am satisfied with it so far.
Both the skid plate and the cradle are fantastic. You might be interested in knowing some of these things. The front frame bolts were difficult to remove because the exhaust had to be taken off and allowed to hang. In order to work on the bike, you have to lay it on its side. The bike springs out a little (1/4 of an inch) when you take the original skid plate off. So when you line everything up to go in the bolts, you don't want the front and the rear of the bike to line up so you have to pull everything back together. There is a cradle in the front that is hit by the stock exhaust. When I tightened everything up, though, I realized that the leak was not huge, and since I will be replacing the exhaust later, I am not concerned. Depending on how it bothers you, you might want to bend the exhaust out a little or do some grinding on the cradle.
It is a good idea to save It has excellent build quality, but is a joke when it comes to fitting. The problem with exhaust fitting on ttr125's has been reported in other reviews, but I assumed that in those cases it was a result of installation error or that the bike's frame already had the problem. The truth is that wasn't The frame cradle of my quite lightly used ttr125 still has the original tires and does not fit very well in any way. To make it clear the exhaust I cut the frame on the cradle. Also, the skid plate has a much smaller protected area than a stock one. I would have expected a lot more from IT for being such an expensive piece of equipment. It is the same issue that I encountered when I bought a BBR skid plate for an XR70 before. It is overpriced and poorly suited to the customer's needs.
Neither the timing nor alignment were perfect, plus the long rear bolt did not come with a washer or My fingers dug into the aluminum of the cradle as soon as I began tying it down. Even though I had trouble getting the bolt to fit the first time, I sucked when I had to remove it to put a washer on it just to have to fiddle with it again.
Without those things, it looks good and should serve the purpose it was intended.
This forged frame stiffener is extremely rigid and of high quality. A safety measure such as this one is essential, as is the chain guide, to ward off potentially catastrophic I hope this review helped you in your shopping decision, if it was helpful please vote that it was. It bolts right on without any issue, did not interfere with my exhaust. Gives priceless piece of mind if you want to get rough with your play bike. I am grateful for your help.
This exhaust translates to solid protection to the engine over stock, however, bike frames will flex over time, so patience and a little mechanical knowledge is required to install it correctly. Adding the stiffeners to the frame was an excellent addition.
Installation took some grinding of the brace. This did fit our 2004 TTR125 with the stock exhaust, but it required some grinding to fit. A brace contacts the exhaust pipe near the head of the car when using the stock exhaust. Compared with the stock skid plate, the brace looks good and provides an increased level of protection. However, you lose an inch or two of ground clearance at the same time. This brace is installed because we no longer allow children to ride our TTR. In my experience, I haven't seen a broken frame or engine case on the TTR125, so I can't vouch for how strong the engine / frame layout is on the TTR125. It's not enough if you believe the online rant this is essential to saving.
