On my 2002 Bri-X, the three 3500lb Dexter axles fit snugly with these grease plugs Here is the trailer for Mar. If you compare the price of a dozen with one of these, it is a great deal. These can be purchased at a trailer shop nearby. I have no complaints about the originals even more so, considering they lasted 16 years before they turned into grease flinging machines. We can only hope these last as long as the last. The extras I have will be helpful if not. This is a product I would definitely recommend.
They do not comply with Compared to original equipment, OEM replacements for Dexter axle grease plugs are superior to the originals in most ways. Before the inside "dimple" rotted away, the original lasted for about 10 months. Compared to the axle that came with them, this set appears to be more flexible and fits more snugly. As with the originals, only time will tell whether UV rays will be able to destroy them.
Again, we needed to replace the caps on our travel trailer with a single axel. My original caps and the first couple of replacement caps that I bought from another supplier lasted less than a year each. Probably because they are covered and do not see sunlight, they seem to have trouble coping with the grease. It will take time to see if these don't last long, but with eight being in the package, I should have several years' supply.
It was easy and inexpensive for me to replace the cracked and failed ones on my trailer, which I just did for all four wheels. It is exactly what I was looking for!.
Built to withstand all kinds of abuse. In the past, I have replaced the grease cover on my trailer several times with lower quality grease covers, which end up needing to be replaced I am assuming that they are of higher quality and thicker.
These are the ones I used on the Dexter axel on my Casita SD 2008. The cap fits snugly on these and is a perfect fit. It won't come off in transit, so I don't have any concerns. There are plenty of extras in this bag if it is worn as a result of dry rot or wear. Without tools, it is easy to install. With the help of a flat head screwdriver, you can easily remove the old ones. It's a good deal for the price.
This is a very easy to install product. The old ones were in desperate need of replacing. It seems like these are a great replacement for them. In the short term, I am very happy with this purchase, but in the long term I am unsure of its durability.
It appears to be a good price. The original ones would probably last three or four years, but these new ones seem to dry out every six months to a year, so you should probably replace them every six months to a year.
