Questions & Answers

Is it possible to purchase individual replacement parts for this kit rather than having to purchase the entire kit if a component breaks?

I was able to order individual parts by calling the distributor in California directly. They are extremely beneficial.

Is it possible that several items in the carrying case are missing?

Although not every "indentation" had a part, mine was almost completely filled. br>Can you tell me what else you believe you're missing? When you open the instructions, you'll find a breakdown of each component of the kit.

Is this going to cause a d. i. to break? d 530 vx chain d 530 vx chain d 530 vx chain d replace it with a riveted one?

It worked on my 2007 zx-1000. In the same day, I got a 10 530, a CBR and R6, and a Ninja 650. The 600s were 520s, but it worked for the 530 on my 1000, and it's still in one piece.

I'm curious about the manufacturing location of this item. ?

I believe China, but it is a nice product with tight quality control that gets the job done and breaks chains easily. I believe China because it has a made in China sticker on the bottom of the case, though sometimes co will have the plastic blo molded case just made in China, hence the sticker, but there were no US marks on the tools.

This RK chain break/rivet tool is all you need to replace your motorcycle chain unless it's defective or you can't/won't follow instructions. Most chain break tools recommend grinding the old rivet head off before pushing the rivet out; however, this RK tool does not require grinding of the old rivet head "ON MOST CHAINS"br>I bought a RK chain that needed to be shortened by 2 links, and the tool pushed the rivet out without grinding, but when I went to remove the old "stock" chain from my KTM, the force I was putting on the tool seemed to be a lot more than I had needed on the new RK I'm not sure who makes the chains that KTM uses on their motorcycles, but it appeared to be an unbranded DID chain. Although the tool may have pushed the rivet out before overstressing it, I decided to be cautious because I had the grinder nearby. RK, I believe, was the one who did the R. D works on their chain tool with their own branded chains, so it worked fine on my new RK chain. Other brands of chain that use a different style of rivet may need to be ground or filed off before the rivet is pushed out. br>During the installation, I took my time flaring the new rivet, snugging it down one flat at a time and checking the flair with a dial indicator; my goal was to flare to a. The diameter of the rivet head is increased by 05mm. It turned out that I could have simply cranked it down until it bottomed out, because that's exactly where I ended up, and the rivet was in perfect condition. With a different brand of chain, the 05mm head might work differently, but the RK tool and a RK chain made chain replacement a breeze. I realize this is beginning to sound like an RK advertisement, but this is my first time using any RK products.

It was used to rivet a RK chain to a DID masterlink that was press-fit - The end result was perfect, and it worked perfectly
5/5

I've only ever had clip-style master links before. My new non-O-RK RK The quick link on the ring chain was standard, and it fit loosely. I'd just misplaced a quick link clip on a pricey DID O-ring. Ring chain was missing, but it wasn't discovered until the new RK chain was installed! I was fortunate in that the press fit plate remained in place for an extended period of time; I'm not sure how long. br> Anyway, I wasn't happy with the fact that my new chain had another clip style, so I ordered a rivet style master link (DID). For the riveting, I needed a new tool. After a lot of reading and watching videos, I decided that the RK chain tool would be ideal. br> Read the instructions several times; it comes with a good manual with pictures and diagrams that makes it simple to figure out what was required. I can press on press fit 520 outer links to the exact depth required, whether the master links are clip style or rivet style. I swage the rivet heads to exactly 5 after pressing the outer plate with the proper anvil and riveting press attachments. 6mm. It takes a LOT of arm strength to turn both wrenches until they can no more, but the rivet is perfect, and I have 100% confidence it won not fall apart. I will.

A DID 525VX3 chain was recently installed to replace a REGINA 525ZRP OE chain. Installed DID chain and had to remove two links because one link pin on REGINA chain was ground flush and pressed out link pin with little effort. With a little effort, the RK tool pressed out the DID link without grinding the link pin, and the DID rivet was installed. Insert pins through inner links to create a master link, then use the RK tool to press on the side plate, which worked perfectly. Then, to flare the rivet links, re-configure the tool. It produced very nice flares, and when I measured them with my digital calipers, they were at the low end of the DID flaring specifications, which is. My DID chain is number 224. I lubed the flaring dies in the RK tool with a tiny amount of the new chain grease before pressing the rivets; I'm not sure if it helped, but the rivets came out perfect. br>br>This is the first time I've ever pressed a master link and riveted it together. I've done a lot of non-O-related work in the past. with a clip-on ring chain However, the rivet-type master link is not available. I had never heard of type master before. It went as well as I had hoped if I just took my time. br>br>After finishing the installation, I checked to see if I had accidentally removed a link pin from the REGINA chain without grinding it. It took a little more effort than the DID, but it pushed the link pin out perfectly, and I would recommend it to anyone.

This is an excellent tool

I've used a lot of chain tools, and this is one of the best. The product is well-made and adheres to tight tolerances. removing the rivet from the worn-out surface The hardest part of the job is usually the chain, but before using ANY chain tool, I always take a minute to file/grind the rivet head down. Riveting the new chain was simple and painless. On my motorcycle, the "five" series chain necessitates a 5. This tool produced a rivet head with a diameter of 5mm once riveted. There were no strange deformations in the rivet head, nor were there any cracks or splits in the rivet material around the head's edges. For the first time in a long time, I am completely confident in the riveting provided by a machine. The long- The tool's long-term durability is unknown, but given that the first use left no visible marks on it, I have no reason to believe it won't last for generations.

This is an excellent chain tool from a company that understands MC chains
5/5

This is an excellent chain tool; it is constructed of high-quality materials and performs admirably. Because the new version I bought had the clip and rivet plate as one reversible item, it was missing some parts. After speaking with RK about the tool, they informed me that they do not sell to Amazon, so be wary of knockoffs.

It was perfect for changing the motorcycle chain
5/5

Given the reviews of the other kits stating that they had to sand down the chain to actually remove the link, I chose this set over the cheaper ones. This set fit my Triumph Scrambler chain perfectly. It effortlessly removed the previous chain and replaced it with the new one.

It performs admirably and is of excellent quality
5/5

I bought this kit because it was my first time changing a chain. I ground the pin with a Dremel to make it easier to break the old chain (520 series). It was simple to install the new chain and press in the new rivet. The instructions that came with the kit were clear and easy to follow. The case appears to be used for another kit, as it has a few open slots, but the instructions state that nothing is missing. The materials are pleasant to the touch and appear to be of good quality. They also fit well.
