Selected User Reviews For Scottoiler vSystem - Automatic Motorcycle Chain Oiler - SO-1005
As a motorcycle enthusiast, I have installed at least 30 ScottOilers throughout the last century. They are one of my favorites. However, this time I had to return the item, refused to accept delivery as the vacuum port was not located anywhere on my 2019 Suzuki Van Van 200 due to the fact that it has no vacuum port.
I received the item in an open box. The item had to be returned to the store. As soon as possible, I'm going to buy a new one to determine if this mistake is my fault.
The 2022 Triumph T120 is using this
I have it set so I have to wipe the rim once every couple of days, and it is easy to see how much oil you are using
Good system, a lot better than using chain lube cans.
Developed and installed this chain oiling system for a 2003 Kawasaki ZX-6R It would be best to hire a mechanic or someone who has mechanical aptitude to help with the installation. In order to receive the complete instruction manual, you should mention the make, model, and year of your motorcycle during the purchase process. Below is the list of what you get + general info about the installation In addition to everything you need to hook it up to your bike, this vSystem comes with clear colored cables and mounting brackets. You will also need the oiler unit, 250ml of blue chain oil rated for lower temperatures, zip ties, vacuum lines, and mounting brackets for your In order to install the oiling unit, you need to connect the vacuum tubing to a dimpled port (location of which differs by bike manufacturer). The diaphragm of the oiling unit will activate, and oil will be pumped out of the reservoir By attaching it to one of the mounting brackets (in my case, I attached it to one of the swingarm spools), you can place it by the rear sprocket. Output of the dispenser should be directed over the rear sprocket (not directly on the chain). During its rotation, the dispenser uses centrifugal force to evenly apply oil to chain by pushing the oil into a groove on the drive sprocket. The cap on the bottle allows manual adjustment of the flow rate - As long as your oiler is set up properly it should continuously lubricate your chain while riding, so no excess oil pools on your sprockets or tire. If you need further assistance, visit the Scottoiler site, which includes video guides and installation instructions. I installed my ZX-7000 on a PC I will be using the ZX-100 for my personal installation We had the hardest time choosing the right vacuum port, deciding where to mount the oiling unit, and routing the oiling lines in an area where moving parts and dirt do not fester. After mounting the unit using zip ties under the seat on the frame, and running the oil lines from the swingarm to the rearsets, then up below the seat to my oiling unit, I finally had it running. Also, I needed to file out the hole on one of the brackets in order to accommodate the larger diameter screw that the rear-mounted unit uses A number of spools were being used. If your sprocket is coated with grime, make sure the dispenser is angled properly and not clogged. A few thoughts I have noticed that this system results in a cleaner, quieter chain and sprocket than other systems and it saves me time since I no longer have to clean the chain completely. It would have been much simpler if I didn't have the vSystem.
