You should first test it on a small sample to see if it's safe to use. Look for one that says it's safe to use on plastic so you don't have to worry about damaging any supporting plastic parts or the finish on the outside.

On the dash, there's a shattered piece of black plastic

Purchase is not recommended. The black plastic on my ninja 300's dash was completely ruined. It claims to be safe for all electrical components, so wash the digital dash and tachometer in the same manner as you would your bike. Then I sprayed it with contact cleaner to ensure that all moisture has been removed from the electrical components, and it turned the black plastic trim around the screen white, which will not come off under any circumstances. My dash is now completely ruined, and every time I look at it, it appears to be garbage. Thank you for completely destroying my Maxima bicycle.

Does it work? It's a good price and it smells nice

So far, I haven't seen any reason to doubt it. However - I conducted some tests in order to address the issue of the product attacking plastic. The vast majority of plastics were unaffected. I did find one piece of plastic that had been severely harmed. Other contact cleaners, I seem to recall, did something similar - Certain types of plastic can be used in this way. So the best course of action would be to carefully apply some to a test area and ensure that it is safe before applying it to a critical area. I didn't see any issues with circuit boards, but if they have a coating, you should test them first. For the most part, I didn't see any issues. br> The scent is pleasant, but it isn't quite right. It doesn't have the familiar odor of an electronics cleaner, which makes technicians feel at ease.
