Oil, coolants, water, grease, gasoline, solvents, auto fluids, paint overspray, battery acid, and nearly all other liquids are safely absorbed and retained by the mats. It isn't meant to get rid of old oil stains.

I ordered these for my boyfriend because I was tired of his side jobs contaminating our driveway with various oils and liquids. We haven't had any new stains or smudges anywhere because of the pig mats. He uses them to clean his hands and tools, as well as to protect the top of his toolbox when removing parts from the vehicle he's working on (I may have used one or two to clean up a spill in the house). He also likes that they're smaller than the ones they use in the shop, which means he wastes less. The issue is this: I never received the magnetic pig mat holder, which was one of the reasons I didn't mind the price as much as I did. I had to go to Harbor Freight and spend an additional $13 on a towel holder. So, if that's one of the reasons you're considering purchasing this bundle, keep that in mind because it appears that we're not the only ones who've had this problem.
When working on anything with grease or oil, these mats come in handy. They can be used to clean up spills and drips, catch drips, or be used on a work bench. They provide a clean surface for working on sensitive components while also absorbing any oil that may leak from them. With perforated sheets, the rolls are extremely convenient, as is the magnetic roll holder.
Griot's Garage was the first place I went to order this item. It's ideal for getting rid of lubricants and fluids. Oil changes necessitate this. Because the rolls are non-returnable, the holder comes in handy. Paper towel rolls are wider than standard width (15in) rolls. Even with a 100% contact area with a steel surface, the magnets on the holder are comically inadequate in either the horizontal or vertical position. My solution is to attach it to a shelving crossbar with three zip ties. This item comes with three (3) rolls rather than the two (2) shown in the product image.
When you buy three rolls, it's almost like getting the holder for free. These are the thinner mats, so don't expect them to be super thick. Unless you have a large spill, the lightweight ones are better for most cleanups. It's possible that the magnets could be a little more powerful.
On a toolbox, a car lift, and a steel door Both the roll and the holder come loose. Either more magnets or stronger magnets are required.
The towel hanger that comes with it is very nice, and it sticks to a cabinet well enough that I was able to tear the pig mat at the perforation with it. Also, buying three with the towel hanger was a better deal than buying singles. The unit works well.
The issue has been resolved!.
The Pig Mat itself is fine, but the dispenser magnets are insufficient to keep it in place.
