It's still toxic, but BMW adds an "embittering agent" that makes it taste bad to some/all pets, according to my understanding.
DISTILLED WATER was used to dilute the product. A 50/50 split is a good rule of thumb. I've heard some guys run 70/30, but I've been running 50/50 with no issues for years.
This item came in a grey container, which I bought. I'm not sure why the description says Grey when the coolant is BMW Blue.
This fits your car, according to the FCP website, and it's pretty much the standard coolant/antifreeze for most BMW cars I'm familiar with. I used it on my 2001 M3 and 2005 325cibr>If you're doing a full coolant flush/replacement on your car, get one jar of this and mix it in a bucket with another 1 gallon jar of Purified Water (purified water only, not spring water)

It takes just under 2 gallons of coolant to cool the E92 335i. One gallon of this coolant, mixed 50/50 with distilled water, fills the empty cooling system with a little left over, as required by BMW. Before you get behind the wheel, make sure you fill and bleed the tires properly: Remove the reservoir tank's cap and bleed screw, then fill the tank until no bubbles emerge from the bleed hole, then tighten the bleed screw and activate the automatic bleeding process as follows: Connect a 10A battery charger to the jump start terminals in the engine compartment, turn on the ignition without touching the brake or clutch (to prevent the engine from starting), set the heater temperatures to maximum, set the blower to the lowest speed, and press the gas/accelerator pedal to the floor for 10 seconds to avoid depleting the battery. To complete the bleeding process, the electric water pump will turn on and off 12 times. NOTE: The ignition (and thus the bleed process) may be turned off when a door is opened or closed. Start by leaving a door open and not closing it. If the process stops for any reason, make sure the battery charger is connected properly before restarting it by turning on the ignition and pressing the gas pedal again. After that, check the coolant level and, if necessary, top it up before replacing the reservoir cap.
I prefer not to scrimp on my car in order to avoid problems down the road. However, I don't just throw my money into it blindly. I make sure I'm using the right products/parts on it at a fair price, and this coolant was definitely one of them. It arrived the next day and was extremely secure lol.
Coolant is what it's called. I used it to replace the water pump in my 2001 BMW 525i (E39). She's purring now that she's been repaired and flushed a second time with only distilled water. And someone is always inquiring about the amount of coolant required. M54- for 6 cyl 11th typewriter 1 quart or 2 quarts is the capacity. 77 gallons is the volume of the container. So 2 gallons of coolant and 2 gallons of distilled water should suffice, with some leftover.
Other coolants are thicker and, over time, will wear down the heater core and radiator.
It's a fantastic BMW product, but it's a little on the pricey side. It's BMW, for crying out loud! Don't forget to dilute it with distilled water 50/50. Some people may recall purchasing antifreeze and simply pouring it into the radiator 40 years ago. Product is good, price is reasonable, and shipping is prompt. I'll make another purchase!.
BMW cooling systems are notorious for their plastic rubber seals degrading over time, so I've learned not to use other brands of coolant in my BMWs, especially not long-life coolants. Organic acid coolants have a long shelf life. I now only use BMW coolant and replace it every two years. 3 years.
It's genuine BMW coolant, so if you don't want to waste time trying to figure out which third-party coolant will or won't work in your car, this is the way to go. Dealerships always charge exorbitant prices for anything they sell, so if you own a BMW/Mini, it's nice to have an alternative.
It fixed the CHECK COOLING LEVEL error message that I used to get on old BMWs. So, try it out and see how much better the radiator works.
