Product Description

By entering your model number, you can make sure that this fits.
Sil-Glyde Lubricating Compound is a long-lasting, high-film-strength protective lubricant that can be used on any surface.
Sil-Glyde is unlike silicone oils in that it does not melt, freeze, gum up, or run off.
Performs at temperatures ranging from -20 to 400 degrees Fahrenheit (-28 to 204 degrees Celsius).
Rubber, metal, wood, glass, and plastic are among the materials that can be used with this product. Rubber and automobile finishes are unaffected.
Trunk seals, rubber bumpers, speedometer cables, brake parts, window channels, hood strips and pads, rubber gaskets, and belts are all examples of recommended applications.

Questions & Answers

This will work on my slider pins, but where else should I use it? Some people use copper anti-seize on their brake hardware, right?

I use it on slider pins and any other moving metal parts that come into contact with rubber. Where the pads ride in the clips or anywhere metal moves on metal, you can use any other brake lubricant, but you can also use the sil glide.

Is there a reason why this shouldn't be used on the back of the brake pads?

For years, I've used this on the back of brake pads on cars, vans, and motorcycles with no problems. Even in high-heat situations like mountain driving, it stays put and keeps the brakes quiet.

Is it possible to use this to protect the terminals of a car's battery?

Yes, it is used to protect the terminals of my batteries.

In terms of intended use, how does this differ from ags bk4?

BK- AGS Silglyde AGS Silglyde AGS Silglyde AGS Silg The formula for 4 and SG8 is the same. Only different product numbers were used depending on the primary industry served. I was unsure which would be best for my brake calipers, so I contacted AGS directly, and they told me that.

I really like it
5/5

This is the key to a great brake job, according to a 20-year ASE technician. Slide pins and rubber boots are ideal for keeping water out of caliper slides and allowing them to operate freely for up to five years. This stuff is also great for keeping the rubber on weather stripping around doors soft and supple so it doesn't crack or tear in the future. br>br>To the person who claims to be anti-Semitic: He's always relied on seize, and his standards are lower than mine. Guide pins become stuck as seize hardens and dries, almost like cement in my experience. It's designed for screw threads, not hot brakes. It's also incompatible with rubber.

warning - Despite the fact that it is shipped by Amazon, this item is not returnable
3/5

Warning - Even though it's fulfilled by Amazon, this item isn't returnable. It's only 40 degrees outside, and the paste thickened to the point where it couldn't reach all the crevices in the window tracks I was trying to lube. This is an Amazon Prime item, but when I tried to return it, it said it was not returnable. So there you have it. br>br>Recent changes - The grease that had been applied to the window tracks had turned yellow after two days. I looked up the product data sheet on the Agscompany website and discovered that the majority of the ingredients are castor oil rather than silicon compound. The Sil- Glyde is a complete and utter blunder. Due to the product's low silicon content, it has a leading name.

This is something I use on almost every occasion
5/5

Lubricant that works well. I used to use the "brake slide" silicone ceramic lube for extra protection on a lot of things like bushings, and while it worked, this is a much better option because it's just pure silicone. br>br>I use it to keep the couplers on my air tools healthy and leak-free. br>I use it to make the connectors on my pressure washer fittings slide together easily and seal properly. It reduces the squeaking of drive belts. br> It does not wash off in the rain (though it does yellow slightly). br>As a dielectric grease, it's fantastic. br>I use this to keep the seals on my aquarium pumps lubricated so they don't dry out and wear out. br>I even use it to seal radiator hose ends. In the future, it will make it easier for the hoses to slide on and off. It also improves sealing and prevents the hoses from corroding white. br>br>I go through a tube of this stuff every month or so, and I adore it.

Sil- Glyde - It's all very good
5/5

Many years have passed since it was last used. I misplaced or lost my tube of this stuff, which I had for years. I believe I spent about the same amount on this larger tube as I did on the smaller version many years ago. It's great for weather stripping, belt dressing, lubricant, brake guides, and other applications. It doesn't sling off like some other belt-dressing products and resists "washing off. " On my Harley CVO Road King, I recently replaced a rear tire and heard a "howl" from the drive belt, which was a little tight. wiped a small amount on the belt drive side, and there you have it. quiet. I read some of the not-so-funny stuff on the internet. On this site, there are some positive reviews, but some people have had negative experiences. The most important thing to keep in mind is to use this stuff sparingly and with caution. It's not suitable for every application (including hemorrhoids), and don't overdo it in the mistaken belief that more is better. You'll be fine with just a smidgeonononononononononononononononononononononononon.

There isn't enough of anything
5/5

For many years, this has been the case. Rubber door seals, brakes, caliper rebuilds, and caliper slide pins are all excellent uses for this product. Hose lubricant for easy disconnects. Spark plug wires, faucet strainers Tracks for electric windows Shower wand sticks, water connections, and lube can all be used in the bath. The hinges are very quiet. Rubber is rejuvenated. Check out articles about automobiles. The material is nourished as a result of this. This lube is excellent for use all over the body. Plastic gears, as well as some parts of clocks, require it.

Brake repairs, rubber weatherstripping, etc
5/5

I made the mistake of purchasing a ceramic brake parts lubricant that is incompatible with rubber bushings on caliper slide pins. Caliper slide pins are frozen due to high heat and gummed-up lubricant! After reading some positive reviews and recommendations, as well as the fact that it works well with metal and rubber, I decided to buy it. The slide pins and rubber dust boots were cleaned, the lubricant was applied, and voila! Dust boots with ease of movement and a fresh appearance. I have a 2010 Corolla with 120,000 miles on it, and the technician asked what I used to make the slide pins move so easily and how the rubber components looked so new when I took it in for inspection this week. I suggested that he try this product. I also read a few reviews that mentioned that it could be used as weatherstripping. This was rubbed into the weather stripping around the door jambs and trunk, and it no longer sticks or peels away from the metal. Just a thought: br>br> I was expecting it to be about the size of a toothpaste bottle, but it's a lot bigger. It looks like it will last a long time; it's a fantastic product!.

Seals for car doors and trunks, as well as refrigerator doors
5/5

Years ago, I borrowed a friend's Honda "Seal Glide" to moisturize and condition my vehicle's trunk and door seals. Our two-year-old refrigerator recently began whistling through the seals, and I remembered how well the Seal glide had rejuvenated the rubber on my car. I was surprised to learn that it's called "Sil" glide when I ordered it, but it's what a lot of people use. After cleaning my fridge's rubber seals and their mating surfaces, I massaged it in. I wiped away the excess and the problem appears to be resolved.

For the most part, Magic Goo will suffice
5/5

At work, I use this for plumbing and to keep moisture out of door locks and padlocks. When I'm working on the brakes on our company's vehicles, I use it. It works well with rubber o- rings. Even automatic transmissions can be rebuilt. It has a lot of weight to it. It has a consistency similar to toothpaste, so it stays put. For the past two decades, I've been using this product. There's nothing else like it. Rather than paying twice as much for a small tube at the auto parts store, buy the larger tube here.
