Questions & Answers

What are you doing with your kickstand? Is this a requirement?

No, the kickstand does not have to be lowered. We like to keep it light by not putting any of the bikes' weight on it.

I don't have the same ring system as the trailer, so I'm not sure how to use the tank straps on a tow truck. ?

They're long, and you can wear them with or without a chain.

What is the shortest distance these can be used at? I've got a couple of nice ties. downs, but they must be at least 3' away from the floor's hook. ?

You can get really close to your hook because each strap is a single continuous piece.

How long and wide is the belt?

The width is likely to be 2". I'm not sure how long it is, but it's a good deal. I took a lot longer than I needed to. But I cut it to the length I wanted.

If you're going to spend tens of thousands of dollars on a bike, make sure you get the best straps you can
5/5

We got these last week and got to use them for the first time this weekend. On our Kendon trailer, we actually severed a Goldwing using other tie downs. We walked a few blocks with the other tie downs before my friend became concerned that the bike was moving too much. We came to a halt and I swapped my tank strap for them. Holy cow! What a stark contrast. We actually trailered the bike through a variety of road conditions, and the 1/2-ton bike did not sway in the least. These items are fantastic. UPDATED! br>br> br>br>I loaded my HD Electra Glide UC onto my trailer, attached my tank straps to the forks, and for good measure, my buddy suggested we use them to secure the back of the bike as well, because the trailer's wheel chock didn't account for anything catastrophic that could happen. Although SRK claims that only two fronts are required, we decided that it was better to be safe than sorry. br>br>This weekend, I drove up to North Carolina alone on our trailer with my bike. I nailed a pothole on I-95 after hauling it for more than 300 miles. In South Carolina, 95 is traveling at around 75 mph. That's a hazard, but I'm looking back at my bike, and it's solid as a rock. So I keep driving until I need to stop for gas near the North Carolina state line, and I check the straps to make sure they haven't slipped or loosened. br>br>After filling up the tank and getting some lunch, I hit the road for Wilmington, NC to visit a friend. As I drove east on 74/76, curving along at 70 mph, everything was fine until I felt and heard a rumbling from the back end. I thought my truck's tire had blown, but when I turned around, I saw my right trailer tire disintegrating behind me. What a sphincter-tightening experience! However, as I was attempting to safely get the truck off the road, I came across an off ramp for a new overpass that is currently being built. I had to go through at least 20-minutes worth of material. It took 30 minutes of rock and dirt to get there, but it was off the interstate and out of harm's way. The Tank Straps were in charge of holding that bike in place. br>br>We own a Kendon 2 up trailer, which is a small, light-weight trailer. The torsion suspension, on the other hand, performed admirably, and the Tank Straps ensured that the bike never slipped or hopped despite all of the bouncing and flying debris. I checked the straps after I got the tire swapped and made it to Wilmington, and they didn't stretch or show any signs of stress, so if you're on the fence about them, my experience with them was a life (and bike) saver. If I had used my older straps, I have no doubt that the risk of catastrophic failure would have been much higher. I have no doubt that the outcome would have been very different if a strap on a 980 lb motorcycle on a trailer less than half its weight had failed.

The most comfortable straps you've ever worn - Towing bicycles is the best idea
5/5

When SRK Cycles first put them on here, I should have bought them right away. It was something I had forgotten about. I had to wait for $7! lol. ($30 vs. $37)br>br>But there's a catch. These straps are extremely well-made and are well worth the money. I used to compress the forks with bar straps for a long time. I knew there had to be a better way, somewhere in the back of my mind. However, until I saw the SRK videos on Instagram and YouTube, I had no idea. It's something I've never done before. I'm so grateful for these. br>br>Are you talking about me? I'd ride anywhere if the opportunity presented itself - However, we are now in our fifties. My wife prefers to drive across states that aren't particularly interesting to her and then ride in the states she enjoys. These straps are out of this world - They'll be mine for the rest of my days.

Tie down straps that are the most durable and reliable
5/5

These are, without a doubt, the best time down straps on the market! These straps were used to tow my motorcycle to and from Lancaster, Pennsylvania. A from Queens, New York Neither Y nor my bicycle moved an inch. These straps are incredibly durable, dependable, and simple to operate. This product comes highly recommended by me, and I strongly encourage you to purchase one for yourself. Only two straps are required to secure the bike; I added an extra strap to the wheel to account for any extra bounce caused by NYC potholes and the fact that I was traveling over 150 miles to my destination. This is an absolute must-have for anyone who is constantly trailering and moving items that need to be secured. SRK CYCLES has a fantastic product and the best customer service!.

After one use, the straps were frayed at the end
3/5

The motorcycle was held in place by these Tank Straps for the duration of the road trip to deliver it to my buyer. The end, however, has frayed to the point where it no longer fits into the gear opening. I also tucked in the loose ends. This has never happened before with any of the other tie down straps I've owned. Even ones I've had for decades are still in good condition. I'm dissatisfied with these, especially since it occurred over the course of a single 150-mile trip. If I want to keep using them, I guess I'll have to cut off the frayed section and re-heat the nylon, but this will reduce the strap's length by about a foot. The cam is of good quality, and the mechanism is secure, but the strap itself isn't worth the money I paid for it. Sorry, guys; I really wanted to like these straps in their current configuration, but they're just OK.

Wide and dependable- This is all you'll need
5/5

These are very effective. I recently purchased my first bicycle (and am currently driving back) and purchased these straps after watching a YouTube video on how to secure your bicycle to a trailer. I was concerned because Harleys are quite heavy, but these two straps (sold as a pair) are all you'll need. They're wider, more sturdy, and easier to use, which I like. I'm a woman who learned how to use them in 5 minutes on YouTube and would highly recommend them!.

Heavy, dependable, and strong
5/5

These were purchased to secure a motorcycle weighing 1300 pounds to a D-frame. a pair of rings or a tie a trailer's weak spots With only a slight loosening of the straps, we towed 1400 miles with no problems. without putting the load in jeopardy - In Illinois and Wisconsin, while driving on deteriorated roads. As a first-time motorcycle mover, these are heavy-duty straps that gave me peace of mind. br>br>My only gripe is that releasing the straps from the winch mechanism isn't always simple, especially when compared to other cinch straps. Even with even force across the handle, they have a tendency to turn (like a screw) and fail to disengage on one side or the other. This isn't always the case, but it happens frequently enough to be irritating. br>br>Considering everything, I'd buy it again and recommend it to my family and friends. These straps can be relied on by anyone needing a strong tie down for even the largest motorcycles.
