This flimsy strap has disappointed me to no end. In the process of tying down a Honda four wheeler to a trailer, two of the four (new out of the box) straps became useless. In the course of a journey of over a hundred miles, they nearly parted ways. In the past, I have had other straps stand up to the same treatment without issue for quite a few thousand At a stop, I inspected the straps to find that they were damaged before the wheeler went off course. Only use these if no one else is using them If anyone is doing any light duty, it should be critical. This is definitely not a product that you would recommend to a friend.
I picked up the contraption and it fell apart in my hand. Apparently the pin that held it together was flimsy and weak, and it broke just before the clasp was able to close. In spite of my desire to return them, I already had three of them installed in the Penske truck for cross-country travel It was impossible to crawl back inside to unstrap the household goods when we moved to a new country. As I watched one of them fall apart, I was worried that they would not last and I wondered what would happen to the straps if they failed. While we were able to get the job done, we also felt the need to rely on additional security measures.
The things I hold in my pickup work great with these. The only complaint I have is they can't take up more than a few feet of the strap, so you have to get creative to shorten the length of strap remaining. In the set, it would be great if the lengths were different.
My truck bed is just the right length to control the load I have in it. We really should have bought two sets of these.
This rope is used to tie back trees, and it holds up very well.
I bought another four boxes of them because I like them so much.
Strap system is easy to use and works well.
