Questions & Answers

Is this kit compatible with the FLHXS Street Glide Special for 2018?

Harley hasn't changed the fairing on the street glide, only the motor, so I believe it will.

Will the radio on my 2016 street glide need to be flashed after installation?

It will work even if you don't flash it, but it will sound better! I'm able to offer you a very competitive price on this unit because you asked the question. Simply text me at (512) 512- 512 512 512 512 512 750- For a quote, please call (877) 8726. Thanks!

Who sells the in-line RCA adapter that allows you to install the radio without having to reflash it?

We've used a simple $20 line output converter from Walmart before and it works great.

Is it possible to add two additional speakers to my tour package?

YEs. I actually placed a second order for 6 more sets. My lower fairings get a five out of five. All you'll need is a few connectors and a little speaker wire. Because it's a four-channel amp, you can use it to drive up to four speakers.

SOUND IS AMAZING
5/5

This is by far the best addition, aside from adding a stage 4 to my 2018 SGS. The audio is incredible. Watch the YouTube video on how to install it as a favor to yourself. This is the first time I've attempted something so large. I also bought the 6x9 speakers for the back lid. The bike shouldn't be flashed for no reason. I made a purchase of an in-home entertainment system. I readjusted the amp, added a line piece that allows you to use the RCA adapter (which is included in the R/F kit), and voila, you can hear me coming a mile away. I'd say the bike will sound a lot better than it does when it's running. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions, as I have installed three of these since I installed mine. br>br>*****UPDATE*****
R/F comes with a two-year factory warranty. Fortunately, I was able to purchase an extended warranty through Amazon using Square Trade. My amp's back channel went out a few days ago. I'll keep you updated on how the warranty company handles my situation.

The sound of an ear drum blowing! I looked around for a new system for my 16 UL and decided to go with RF for my p; urchase
5/5

So, what exactly is it? Wasn't that something I didn't hear? Oh. By the way, the sound quality and power output of the 400XAD have rendered me deaf. WOW! After installing the front and rear tour pack speakers in the bike, I was blown away! What a huge improvement over the old stock system! I'm blown away by how much power this small amp can generate. The 400XAD is a 400 watt amplifier, but that's all it is. All of these amplifiers come with a certificate stating what they can and cannot do. My unit produces 601 watts of power. That's why I'm deaf now! I chose to install it myself because I prefer working alone. br>br> It took me a little longer than I expected (approximately 4 hours), but that's only because I've never done anything like this before on my bike. It's not as if installing the system is difficult. It just takes time and patience (perhaps the beers slowed things down?). Go to RockfordFosgate if you want to do it yourself. Visit com and look at their installation video. I kept an eye on what I was doing while working, which was extremely beneficial. Because of the three attachment bolts at the bottom, removing the front speaker pods from the bike was the most difficult part. After I got the right tool (universal joint socket), I was ready to go. If you're going to do the installation yourself, get this. ) After that, it was easy sailing. After that, it was just a matter of connecting the wires, securing the speakers, plugging into the amp, closing everything up, and getting on with it. br>br>The amp and speaker instructions are largely useless, which is why I recommend watching the video. It also explains how to use the 400XAD to its full potential. I even had a question about a power issue and was able to get my questions answered quickly by calling Rockford and speaking with a real technician. FYI. If you have an HD garage door opener, you can use a 2 pin Y to tell the amp when to turn on by plugging in wire. That was also something I needed to pick up. I didn't have to do any splicing or dicing with this kit because of its plug-and-play features, making it very simple to install. MOST IMPORTANT! br>br> Prior to installation, have your factory system flashed to avoid blowing your speakers when you turn it on for the first time. RF has a nationwide list of places that will flash your stock HD radio for around $40. You might want to do some in-flight calibrations on the amp EQ and fine-tune the front and back speakers separately. You don't have to, but you'll probably get better sound while riding if you do. I used RF's settings from the install video, which were great but a little in-depth. With a little tweaking, it turned into an AWESOME sound. This system will not let you down! br>br> Ride on!.

Rock on, Wohoo
3/5

First and foremost, the 400 watt amplifier is more. The number 578 was assigned to it. (According to the information sheet that came with it. ) I have a 2018 HD road glide ultra with saddle bag speakers but no tour pack (it's missing). The mIn wiring (pos/neg/ remote) is perfectly cut to length. (It's not too long, though) but it's something I feel compelled to mention. The adaptor was attached to the battery wires, and the adaptor was also installed in the amp. Take out the black adaptor from the amplifier. I was about to return the whole thing because I thought the adaptor was wrong, but there were only two of them. As a result, remove the black adaptor from the amp. It came with a plug-and-play wiring harness for my bike, so all I had to do was disconnect and reconnect it. I should also mention that I have a third-party radio (sony xav7000) that is still plug-and-play. br>Now, since my bike's rear saddle bag speakers were already connected, there was no reason for me to go to that location. All I had to do was connect the amp to the harbess in the fairing, and the amp and saddle bag speakers were powered. Please keep in mind: Before installing the amp, look at the pictures to see how the amp disls should be adjusted; I had to adjust my dials to match the diagram. When you see the diagram, it will all make sense. If you watch the YouTube video (which I recommend), the amp mount(s) should be fairly self-explanatory. There are also a LOT of extra wires, nuts bolts, and connectors. Don't be concerned. Everything will be fine. I deducted a star because the two battery adaptor connection pieces, in my opinion, should not have been an issue, and for the issue where you can't see the. Buttons or a pwwr light Or not attached at all, in order to avoid a mild panic attack. And because the buttons on the Amp are 100% inaccessible once installed once installed once installed once installed once installed once installed once installed% The power button light isn't visible at all. That's a little weird. br>It's time to make some changes. The reason for this. I wanted an amp because when I'm driving at 85 mph, I can't hear myself. music. following the installation I made it to 85 points. the same issue As a result, I took it to a professional installer. No gain. I put 400 speakers in the back of the saddle bag. My music is now audible. I also had RF saddlebag speakers with me. As a result, I'm not convinced that the speakers are worth anything. The amplifier is unquestionably strong. Speakers. Eh. br>The date was August 8, 2002. To hear them clearly, I had to replace my Saddlebag speakers with HERTZ 260 W. The amplifier, on the other hand, is still functional.

Better than HD alternatives at a fraction of the cost! I purchased the front kit, which included an amplifier
5/5

With the schematics and videos on the website, installation was a breeze. Thank you for making it so straightforward. I chose to forego "flashing," which could cost anywhere between $100 and $1,000. I paid $550 for a Sony touchscreen and a Metts kit, and I'll never have to flash again, plus I can use RCA's and I DON'T HAVE TO CUT ONE FACTORY WIRE! I love the sound, the amp is incredible, and all I have to do now is wait for my stretched bags to arrive so I don't have to cut into my factory lids to mount the rear speakers. I'm only using half of the amp right now, so it's quite loud. Thanks, RF, for taking the time to answer my questions over the phone and for providing us with a viable alternative to being completely ripped off by HD for subpar audio packaged as Top of the Line. The entire system, including the Sony, front and back speakers, and adapter, cost around $1850, while Harley wanted over $2000 for just the touch screen. Thank you once more, RF!.
