I previously had (and still have on my second helmet) a Lexin LX-33. I got the G16 for my other helmet to install on the FT4 which I really like. I find the G16 to be a great device at a really reasonable price from what it offers. The pros - I very much appreciate the packaging. - The installation process is easy. To find the perfect location to mount, one can choose from a variety of options. I-n- d This is a better sound quality We already had FT4 in place. I-n- d The LX-E is similar to the LX-A in operation The buttons on the G16 are different from the ones on the FT4, so I was familiar with them. I-n- d It is awesome to travel a long distance. Even though the distance between our units was not exact, we were able to get more than a mile between them. During riding, we are typically close to one another, so distance should rarely be an issue while riding. Then continue reading I was able to connect to bluetooth instantly despite having a not-so-powerful device The Motorola G7 has remained in the mainstream and has never dropped a connection. I-n- d For how I use my G16, I find the battery life to be more than adequate. I-n- d I have found the light to be very useful in many situations. It is convenient as the G16 is always pointing in the direction your eyes are looking since it is mounted on the helmet. I-n- d You can be secure in the knowledge that your product will be covered for two years should anything go I-n- d The machine has some bells and whistles like an FM radio, a light, 16 passenger capacity, and a - Cons - It has always been difficult for me to find the right button while gloved up. My practice is to look in the mirror before pressing the button to ensure I'm pressing the correct one. The LX is somewhat easier to operate With the FT4, the scroll wheel and some of the other buttons are positioned more prominently (let the FT4 stick out more from the unit). With more and more time using the G16, I am growing accustomed to finding the buttons. It has not yet been necessary for me to connect with 16 riders, but I have tried to connect with 6 so far and the unit worked fine. In the coming weeks, I will post an update to this review, but as of now, I am very satisfied with the G16 as well as my other Lexin devices. Whenever I had an issue with my LX-48, the company responded quickly on the phone and shipped me a replacement mounting unit The FT4 protocol. No charge was applied for this quick delivery.
Thank you to Lexin for making quality products at a competitive price!.
I was already excited by the package when I opened it. This is a really nice unit, and it is packaged very nicely. I purchased the older one last year and love it. New model came out so I had to give it a try since I use it all the time. I have a 5 year old son and it has taught him so much about looking for other riders and riding techniques. Then I use it with my friends when we go on a It is very easy to install and they hide the wiring beautifully. The sold kit (g16) comes with a better mount that attaches to the helmet using screws. It will be useful since I fell short of doing a good job sticking the other one to the wall. It's easy to switch out the old kits with the new ones. As soon as you understand how to pair the units together, you will be amazed at the clarity you achieve. Having a very loud motorcycle such as the crf450r would be expected to drown out the mic, but they are all able to hear me as clearly and well as I do. The part that I like the most is to hear my 5 year old sing and talk to himself as I have never had a battery issue with a weekend of riding. Overall, I think it's a fantastic setup and a great price.
Intercoms are awesome, and this one is no exception! Especially with the G16 I have been riding for about 5 hours over a few days while listening to music, chatting with my com and using my GPS, and it's nearly at 100%
I originally bought the LX-32.
The unit has absolutely blown me away. Over my straight pipes I can hear everything, since my Dyna has straight pipes. It really isn't that hard to get Siri to respond to voice commands all I need to do is figure out how to get it. The "Hey Siri" is wrong, what I meant was holding down the power button on the iPhone so that it is listening for commands. It did not When riding my motorcycle, I am able to contact my son via phone calls and connect with him on my ride. There is no background noise heard on the other end of the call and it is very loud and clear. A Sena SMH10 previously failed to play back any sound over my pipes, and I'd tried that unit previously as well. The whole thing was so sad.
A step up from the Lexin LX-16 is the Lexin G16 While I'm very fond of both the B4FM and the G16, it has a few features that make it higher end. In addition to the better speakers, more clamp mounts are available, and the flashlight is better. The pairing process was straightforward. Personally, I am impressed with both units, they are so much less expensive than some of the other options out there and are able to do the job exactly as I need. G16 can be connected to three Bluetooth devices at once, according to the owner's manual! I haven't yet tried that, but it should solve my problem of wanting to connect my phone to my GPS at the same time as my phone is connected to my music system.
I put them in my helmet and everything worked as it should. Helmets are important to me, not so much for my buddy. There was a lot of noise in the background. Support sent out another set of earpieces as soon as I contacted them. I'm running out of time to try them out when they get a new helmet.
I would like to say that communication on this matter is excellent, and wind noise does not seem to be a problem I like the fact that sound quality is good, and it is virtually non-existent. Packaging is beyond what anybody can imagine. They include all possible fitment options, and they have an awesome website offering videos and electronic instructions on how to install the product. I've tried them on the road as well as on the trails, and I'm blown away by the sound and range. Sometimes, I do not want to fiddle with my phone, so the voice command feature is incredibly convenient. This motorcycle headset is an excellent purchase in the long run.
