A wire issue at the voltage regulator and the high draw of the electric fan on the hydraulic cooler caused my Hustler Super Z battery to discharge while I was mowing. I secured the wires to prevent this from happening again, but I wanted to monitor the voltage while running it to see what was going on more precisely. The price was right, and my mower already had two empty rocker switch slots, so all I had to do was run the wires and push it in. Installing to a switched power wire was simple because I used a clip in or quick splice wire tap, which is a great "no solder" solution for low amp devices. The display is visible in bright sunlight, looks neat, has a USB port, and has given me peace of mind while mowing knowing that it is discharging around 1/4 throttle. I'd buy it again if I needed something similar in the future!.
On a Defender 110, it's been installed. I was primarily interested in the QC USB, but the voltmeter was an added bonus. Although it appears to be very accurate, keep in mind that I was simply plugging into a nearby 12v cigarette lighter socket. br>br>Yes, it's simple to set up and secure in place. Although the wires were a little short, an inline fuse was included. If you want to connect directly to your battery, you'll need 14AWG wire and a fuse to make your own, longer harness. br>br>I drove at night, and the led display isn't distracting or too bright, which wasn't what I expected, but it's good to know now.
When the product arrived, it was in perfect condition and met all of the requirements. Installed in a Jeep Wrangler SE from the year 2000. It was used to replace a dummy cover on a factory-installed switch panel. The included wiring harness has high-quality connectors and worked perfectly; it's also nice that an inline fuse was included. The only issue with installing in a vehicle is that the wiring is only about 24 inches long. I decided to connect it to a switched 12v "cigar" lighter using wire taps. It's fantastic! It's worth noting that when both USB ports are used, the voltage drops slightly (0. 2). This, I believe, is due to the fact that the volt meter is local to the unit and thus does not reflect a drop in the entire electrical system.
off, and there is no quality control by the vendor. When DC power was applied to this device, the built-in voltmeter flashed at a rate of 8 times per second. An external Voltmeter reads exactly 13, whereas the internal Voltmeter reads 8. The voltage was set to 00 VDC. When I returned the device for a replacement, it was also defective, with the internal voltmeter display fluctuating between 7 and 8. 2 volts and 7 volts are the two voltages that are used in this When connected to a stable 13 volt source, the voltage is reduced to 7 volts. Source of 0 Volts Direct Current (VDC). BUYING IS A MISTAKE. This is a failure on the part of both the device and the vendor.
This was purchased to replace one of four rocker switches in my Jeep cluster that were all the same size. However, the clips that hold it in place aren't as large as the others, so it doesn't fit into the plastic housing. Because the switch is the same size as the other rocker switches, I'm not sure why the clips aren't the same size as well.
It's not complicated - As advertised, it comes with two USB ports and a voltmeter. On a Molle, it's mounted in the bed of a Jeep Gladiator. It does exactly what it says on the tin. I'd prefer an Amber or Red display in the dark because it's easier on the eyes, but I don't have to stare at it, so it's not a big deal.
On my RZR, it was a breeze to install. With a baby in my arms, it took me exactly 10 minutes to install. It matches my OEM switches and looks great. The wires that came with the kit were just long enough for me and made the installation go quickly. Good buy.
In a 2010 Tacoma without a voltmeter, it worked perfectly. To mount on the upper left dash panel, a lot of trimming and fitting was required. There was a lot more light than I expected, especially at night. I'd suggest wiring to switched power (rather than constant) so that the bright light does not drain the battery when turned off.
