The warranty period is two years.
The letter "A" represents amperage, which is the unit of measurement for electrical current. In this case, the electrical draw of the 2A unit is double that of the 1A unit. In most cases, the 2 A unit is the best option.
It should be fine; what kind of battery are you using?

When my backup generator failed to start during a recent power outage, I discovered that the starter battery had died, most likely due to age. I bought a new 12v battery and installed it, as well as monitoring its voltage. The voltage would rise to around 13 when the generator ran its weekly 20-minute exercise cycle. 6 volts because the generator was "charging" it. The voltage dropped below 12 over night (with temperatures near freezing), which isn't ideal for keeping a healthy battery. As a result, I needed to devise a better way to keep the battery charged- , as opposed to the previously-mentioned once-mentioned once The generator has given me a boost this week. br>br>I chose this unit because of the many battery and charge settings it offers, including the ability to charge a lithium-ion battery. I have a lithium-ion battery in my RV, and it has "smart" technology, which I've learned is critical after destroying several batteries due to my lack of proper maintenance. br>br>I liked how it had different connecting types and a 'quick-connect' feature. connect the plug TIP: After plugging in the unit, but before connecting it to the battery, select the battery type and charging mode. The battery voltage reached and stayed around 14, as stated in the manual. It was at 3v for a few days (absorption stage) before stabilizing at around 13v. The float stage has a voltage of 4 volts. I'm not sure if I'll leave the charger fully charged. I'll keep an eye on it as I see how well it holds a full charge with a single charge. In the summer, when it's hotter and the battery loses less voltage overnight, a weekly charge from the generator is recommended.
The size, price, and versatility of this small charger appealed to me, so it must be defective. Over the years, I've had a few different battery tender brands. But this one has let me down twice, and as a result, I've had to condemn two batteries. Because the automotive batteries wouldn't charge, I assumed they were defective. It turns out that this charger does not charge any batteries even when the lights are on. I've had this product for over a year and haven't gotten much use out of it. It has cost me money in batteries that I have incorrectly condemned. I'm extremely dissatisfied with this outcome.
When a 12 volt battery needs to be charged, this is the device to use. When plugged in after 14 months of use, it shows no signs of life. There aren't any lights on, and there aren't any other distractions The plastic hass appear to be glued or hot bonded together, so I assumed there was a fuse inside. Repairs are impossible to carry out because there is no way in. Battery chargers appear to have turned into a yearly expense. China, China, and more China.
I purchased both this and the 5 Amp model (for my truck), but since selling the truck almost two years ago, I only use the 2 Amp model for my motorcycle. I've got a 0 as well. I use a 5 Amp BatteryMinder that is a few years old. I experimented with both and occasionally left it on the bike. They both worked the same for four weeks. br>The advantage of 2 Amp Mroinge is that if the battery is completely depleted or I need to charge it faster than usual, the 2 Amp excels where the 0 does not. 5 appears to be a little sluggish. br>br>One of Mroinge charger's selling points was that it was "waterproof," which I tested. After all, the reason I was looking for a new one was because my expensive ($120) BatteryMinder, which could charge four vehicles at once, was damaged while in use when it was submerged in a few inches of water.
I wanted to do this to keep the battery in my elderly parents' rarely used car charged. Instead of the smaller model that only does one thing (12v 1amp Mroinge MBC010), I figured the 5 amps in this model would bring a dead battery back to life in a fifth of the time; unfortunately, there is a mode button that can be set to the wrong mode and destroy a lead/acid battery. When a lead acid car battery is charged in LiPo mode, the voltage may be too high. br>br>There is a Dewalt charger that is only 12v lead acid, but it has an on/off button. I'm going back to the Mroinge MBC010 single mode 12v 1amp because it's simple and doesn't have any buttons to mess with.
I was initially perplexed because the battery connection wire was not fused, but I soon realized that the protective mechanism was already built into the charger's main body, so it was fine. br>br>Now let's get to the good stuff - Because I have a number of bicycles to charge -
1. The wire length is well designed; some other chargers, despite how well they advertise, are very bad at the length; however, you're putting yourself in a situation where the AC source is over 3 feet away from your bike, and you're about to return the product; I've got another charger with ONE feet of connection cable length.
2. The charger can be hung somewhere where the status can be seen, which is a useful feature.
3. Last - Unlike over-priced items, this item comes at a great price. over-the-top style or refined design Unlike its lower-cost competitors, this charger gets the job done correctly. br>br>I'm going to tell all my friends about this.
I tried two different batteries and received the same result; based on other reviews, I believe I received a defective unit, but in any case, I will have to return this device. br>br>Edit: I discovered that if I leave the charger connected for a while (even if the unit falsely reports the battery is full) and then disconnect one of the alligator clips for a brief period of time, the charger behaves normally and the battery is finally charged correctly.
Work has come to an end. It became extremely hot and swollen. Order 3. One will be used as a back-up. One of them continues to function. Today's was the third, and it wouldn't turn on (5th use). Normally, it takes a few seconds for the power to show up. within a minute It became extremely hot and swelled. I attempted to contact the seller through this forum. ANDDDDD! They've set up the necessary contact option to boomer ring a customer back to Amazon. Which is pointless because they are no longer in the picture after 90 days. When I called Amazon, they said they couldn't reach me either. This is yet another infraction of their policy. That's a problem. because the charger's creator was once a well-known figure.
