You can use a 9005 bulb with your car, based on the fit list. With a bulbous fan at the back end along with a longer cable and module, these bulbs have a slightly longer insert length. You should be fine as long as your 4Runner doesn't already have a tight fit. I installed mine on my 2019 4Runner. I have not seen any errors with these so far. They are far brighter than stock.
