I can't say because it's too soon. Two years is written on the box. I've only done two of my cars in the last three months. If you use this product, be aware of overspray and the fact that the clear coating will remain sticky for about 30 minutes, even when exposed to direct sunlight (which is required for curing). Allow nothing to come into contact with the headlight while it cures (this is something I learned the hard way!).
It just about covers two headlights. Vic
This has an enamel-like clear coat, rather than the polish and wax that many others have. Mine has been on the car for over a year and has shown no signs of fading or discoloration. If your headlights are too large and there isn't enough spray, you can contact Griots for a replacement kit. They offer 100% guarantee and I purchased from Amazon due to free shipping.
It holds up around 80% after 2 years of use. It will need to be redone next year.

The spray head was not working properly. I spent the entire time wet sanding, and I even went above and beyond with a rotary polisher and optical grade polish to refine the sanding marks. Before applying the UV spray, the lights looked fantastic. I followed the instructions exactly, but the spray head was defective and sprayed orange peel on the headlight. Textured drywall appeared to be the material. Because you can't clear out the spray head, and you don't have a lot of product to waste with that small can of spray, it's not like you have a lot of product to waste. I had to get that product off the headlight as soon as possible before it cured. I ended up sanding and polishing the headlight for another hour. It appears to be in a worse state than when I began. I'll have to keep working on it - It's possible that I'll have to take my car to a professional detailer to get it fixed. If I can't fix it, I'll have to pay $600 for new headlamp assemblies if they can't fix it. Be wary of the buyer!.
However, in this price range, there are better options. Pros:
- Simple: sanding in steps and 1 coating step-by-step-by-step-by-step-by-step-by- Quick: Allow 30 minutes for sanding and 15 minutes for curing. br>- Enhancement of the visual: br>br>Cons: Not perfect, but better than beforebr>br>
- There is only enough coating for one person. There are five different types of headlights. On a 2012 Acura MDX, I put it to use. These headlights aren't particularly large, and I'm surprised by the lack of coating provided by Griot's. Both headlights now appear to be coated in an uneven manner.
- This kit is more expensive than its competitors, with a price tag of $30. To finish my job, I'll have to switch to another brand. br>br>I'm dissatisfied with Griot's handling of this kit's launch. With a great product but insufficient supplies, completing a job is a disaster. This product will not be recommended to anyone. br>br>.
IT PERFORMS EXACTLY AS DESCRIBED. I've tried a few other headlight restoration products in the past, and they've all failed me. I've been a long-time user of Griot's products, and they're all excellent. This is completely ridiculous. It can also be used on taillights. With my kit, I was able to restore three headlights and one taillight; there is a little more in the can, but I was afraid to go any further in case I ran out. I've already placed an order for a second kit. br>br>For those who left negative feedback: br>You didn't follow the instructions if it didn't work. br>If you said it was costly, you haven't yet calculated the cost of a set of replacement headlights. br>If you've run out of spray, you're probably using far too much. br>br>It's fantastic.
Following Griot's simple instructions is the only way to do it properly. This was a simple, low-cost headlight lens restoration with a lot of bang for the buck. As a 55- It was simple peasy for the elderly lady. Save a small misting spray bottle to use for filling with water since you'll be constantly wetting the work. The sanding block is marked on each side (right, left) to remind you to flip it for the second side you'll wet sand. I also brought out a water pitcher, which I used to thoroughly rinse before drying. It's also simple to use the clear coat spray. There was a significant amount of food left over.
Used it. It helped, sort of, with the foggy lights. I think it could have used a little more wet sanding. However, I sanded with the provided sanding sponge until there was no more grit on the sponge. br>It was simple to use, but it didn't deliver the expected results. I didn't do a particularly good job. However, if you don't have time to gather supplies and spend a lot of time prepping with various grits of fine sand paper, this will suffice.
I tried the highly recommended Sylvania Kit, but the yellow reappeared after a year, and the final result was visibly hazy. The Sylvania kit included a lot of different steps as well. The Griot's performance was simple and straightforward. However, good weather is required (warm, sunny, not humid, not windy). The complaints about not enough clear coat are due to either poor spraying technique on a windy day or the presence of massive headlights. There's enough for a second set of headlights after I finish my application. The only flaw is that the final finish isn't completely smooth. It has the appearance of an orange peel. Although not as good as new, the results are quite nice, and only the perfectionist in me is slightly disappointed. As a result, four stars are awarded. In terms of longevity, We'll have to wait and see.
At $29. This kit costs around $99, which is comparable to similar kits. I've used a lot of Griot's products and have had a lot of success with them. I read about nearly all other headlight resto kits and decided that I did not want to use a kit that required a drill with a buffing wheel, despite the fact that the initial and only Amazon review (at the time I purchased) was poor. I read about nearly all other headlight resto kits and decided that I did not want to use a kit that required a drill with a buffing wheel. br>br>Follow the instructions carefully! Use all of the sandpaper (one sheet per light) and take your time. There was plenty of UV protection - I'm not sure how the other reviewer managed to run out of time. I'm very happy with the outcome; the lights are crystal clear, though there is still a faint 'orange peel' texture. I'm also going to add.
Everything was fine until I got to the step of wiping off the lights with the included alcohol wipes, at which point I noticed spider cracking on the lenses after they had dried. I sanded again, but the cracks persisted. We're getting new headlights. I've been a Griot's customer for over a decade, and I'll never do business with them again.
