A headlamp retainer is not required on that vehicle. The bolts have to be unbolted in order to be changed.
There is no way to tell. The part was installed on a Pontiac Aztek 2001.

It's just like the original, except not as It's the only thing an 18 year old vehicle needs to keep itself.
