These replacement taillight lenses are available on Amazon, so I was glad to find them since it is getting more difficult to find the factory replacement parts for older Chevy trucks. However, even though the new lenses are nice, the chrome trim would be much better if it fit the new lenses It's hard to beat these lenses at this price.
I like the quality of the lenses included in this kit, and I think they look good While the trim is nothing more than stamped aluminum that has the same shape as the lenses themselves, the lenses themselves aren't required to be shaped. There is an almost nostalgic feeling, almost as if someone once saw the original equipment back in the seventies and then reinvented it Suppose you had to recreate them thirty years ago. You'll be putting your fingers at great risk when you install it, and it looks nekkid at best on the lenses after you install it. As soon as the cheapness is installed on the truck, it really becomes apparent. About thirty seconds were required for me to decide whether it was worth doing. However, the lenses are pretty good.
The one I had on my truck were really old and falling apart, so they are 100 times better then what I had. 5 stars all the way. At first I thought these would look cheap, when I received them I was pleasantly surprised that they actually appeared to be really good quality.
I might be able to silicone the aluminum trim to keep it in place. It was great to get both sides in one pack at such a low price.
I think these aren't too bad for the price. (Of course) they are made in China! There is no warranty (but they did claim to be) and the quality is not that of the factory part. I had to tap down the chrome (more like bare aluminum or tin) trim ring because it did not fit flush or wrap around the edges like a factory part It is imperative that you do this because if you do not, the lens will be out on the sheet metal and will not sit properly in the taillight pocket. It should not be too difficult to make them look like they should however, they are not as good as they could be.
The lenses are very nice quality and look fantastic. My mostly original truck needs to have a little trim work. The panels are flimsy and don't fit perfectly but after bending and molding with pressure, they came out well enough. I am not complaining about the price in the slightest.
A set of these went on my daily driver Chevy square body truck from the 1970's. I really like how they look and fit well. It has a shiny finish, so plenty of light passes through it as a bright red color. The only downside is that the chrome trim must be installed on the lens, but this isn't very difficult (just be sure you do it right). These are the kind of products I'd buy.
The new ones replaced the old oxidized ones that had been in my possession for 30 years The headlights made my truck a whole lot safer to drive. I could now see my reverse lights, and I'm sure other drivers could see my brake lights too! UPW lighting products come with replacement screws which, if you still have the original stainless steel screws installed by the factory, should be thrown away. The chrome/metal surrounds must be put on the lenses and bent over to lock into place a fix for this will be described below. You can now make your 30 year old pickup stand out from the rest of the body by tattooing your lenses. It's not as hard as you think and it makes them "pop".
