The bracket I hold in my hand was broken by one of my grandchildren when he tried to use it for a step to climb onto the utility trailer (mine was mounted to a thick, flexible rubber bracket installed by the trailer factory on the left fender). Now that I've got a spare bracket in case I need to use it, I have all the supplies I need. My bracket has no studs, only holes that allow you to attach the bracket and light with screws or bolts and nuts of your choice. Tiny rivets were used by the trailer factory. It can be easily installed, it is DOT certified and it is not made in China. I think this is an excellent The product is made in Taiwan, not China, and it is DOT-rated. A pot of epoxy, completely covering the LED, keeps it protected A drain hole can also be seen on It is quite simple to mount the camera. This was an excellent solution that met the requirement (law requires an illuminated license plate at night) for me to bring my utility trailer license plate to a different location. As I mentioned earlier, the only con for this unit for my application is that the backside studs are designed to be in a dry location (usually The studs in the wall were not zinc coated as mine were, so I painted them to ensure they wouldn't rust.
The shipment was delivered quickly and at a good price. A disadvantage of old units was that incandescent bulbs were used and the lenses yellowed. LEDs went in exactly the same way as the old ones, have excellent light output and are identical in size. As shown in the photo above, the old one is still in place to give an indication of In cases where more than one light is used, PREVENT using the old light. It's time for both of them to be replaced! Results are excellent. I am very pleased.
The little thing does not fit on the foot of my truck, but it works perfectly, very good, I had to adapt it a little to make it fit on the foot, I recommend it.
The trailer rolled out of the shop before it ever began to work. You had to wiggle the LED to make it flicker. The Grote model was switched out for a more robust version.
As time goes by, we'll know if it's waterproof or not. Light that has two wires would be useful to me. I previously had a license plate light with one wire and a ground wire connected to the frame. It was imperative that I find a ground in the replacement since I could not find one that was exact. was the perfect option for my needs, since it has leds and can be mounted easily.
On the utility trailer I was towing, an accident caused me to break the lamp holder on the license plate. We had no problems with the replacement and it was a good buy.
It is simple to install and it appears to be solid and bright, good value for its price tag.
In my JKU 2012, the stock light burned through the housing and melted it. It replaced a stock lamp that I had that was very dim, and it also came with its own housing, so it was a fantastic replacement.
