Since I tow a 5th wheel, I do not need anything in my Class V hitch, so I thought this would be a good safety feature when we are not attached to the The F350 is our daily driver most of the time, so we drive it most of the time. It is likely that the LED unit is not giving the truck's computer enough of a load to verify that something is connected to it since it is a LED unit. But in spite of that, the part seems to function as a break light and will light up when the headlights are turned It is just a little annoying to keep getting these ding dongs and pop-up notices on the dashboard.
