These were simple to set up. They were a little tight at first, and I had to flex the plastic with a flat head screw driver to get it to fit, but once I figured that out, the rest of the installation was a breeze. One suggestion is to rotate the lights all the way in one direction until they stop, so that when you install the lights, the front and back door lights are in perfect rotational alignment. However, removing one of them to make a change was a breeze. For the money, this is a fantastic purchase. I hope that this review aids in the decision-making process.
Anyone who owns a BMW 5 series should avoid purchasing this projector because it is far too small to fit inside the door. I had to superglue mine inside my door so it wouldn't fall out and be crushed by the door.
My package arrived in December. It's now February 22nd, and three of the four lights have completely burned out and are no longer working or showing (as another buyer recently stated). I'd like to know if there's anything I can do about it.
I'm not sure what to make of the phantom lights. To begin with, I get a lot of compliments on Zippy's ghost light. They appear to be popular with him as well. The added lighting effect that helps me leave for work early in the morning when it is still dark outside, as well as the added security it provides at gas stations at those hours; they are especially useful when I am tired and have a habit of dropping everything out of my hands when getting into or out of my car. It's not so much a statement of "look at me, I want to be seen," but rather a security feature; there are two doo and four door sets available. This is well worth the money, in my opinion! They should be purchased by everyone for added security and peace of mind.
The image is super sharp and bright! Also, that symbol is quite prominent. They sent me four of them, and his 2009 228i only has these lights on the driver and passenger doors, despite the fact that he has a four-door sedan. So I guess I'll just keep the other two for backup?.
