Questions & Answers
My circuits have never overheated, but there could be some resistors or a voltage regulator involved.
When using 12 volts, there is no need for a resistor. If the brightness is too bright, you can adjust it with a potentiometer.

I bought these for a motorcycle headlight and installed them. They were both beautiful and functional. for approximately six months Then one of them went on strike. When I disassembled the housing assembly, I noticed burn marks on both rings, which is where the small metal resistor is located. I switched on the one that was still working, and the part became so hot, so quickly, that I couldn't touch it without getting burned. I had it connected to the factory line that used to power my low beam headlight, but I'm wondering if there's a way to limit the power while still allowing it to light up properly. I bought a second set because it was cheap enough for me to try out, and who knows, maybe the first one was a dud. Because sipping these takes a long time, I'll have plenty of time to come up with new ideas.
