Cutting and soldering the wires is the simplest way to extend. The plugs resemble the round charging plugs found on laptops. To avoid connections and entry points for water or debris, I removed all plugs from mine and hard wired them together.
Each of the 60" sections in my kit is 60" long.
They included a wiring harness as well as a switch. All of mine were dismantled and used without the switch.
Yes, you can trim them with cut lines. I also shortened the case by removing the end caps.

BEWARE OF THE BUYER! The double-sided tape refused to adhere to the light backing or the vehicle. To ensure I got the best shot at application, I cleaned the application service with rubbing alcohol and warmed up the application surface. It was 70 degrees outside, but I warmed up the surface with a heat gun. Despite my best efforts, the tape would not adhere to either the light backing or the surface. This renders the light ineffective unless you spend $10 on EXCELLENT quality double sided tape, which is exactly what I had to do in the middle of the installation. Drive to Lowes to get tape, then remove and replace all of the tape that came with the lights. Amazing. It only took a few minutes to put it together after replacing the original tape with EXCELLENT quality tape. There's no way the tape's manufacturer is unaware of how bad it is. I would have returned them if I hadn't been in the middle of something and needed it completed. However, I will not be purchasing these in the future because the lights function as expected, but the tape is an essential component of the package. It did not work out.
I put these lights in the bed of my truck, and they've made a huge difference! Now that I've got a tonneau cover, I'm able to see everything! The adhesive didn't stick well in all areas, but that's probably due to the fact that my truck has a spray-on bed liner. on the bottom of the bed I ran a 12ga wire under the truck and up behind the brake light from my positive battery terminal (ensuring that a 3amp fuse was within 6in of the battery). Behind the tail light, I sanded a spot for the ground wire to connect. Whether my keys are in the ignition or not, I now have plenty of light. All I have to do now is make sure I don't forget to turn it off.
I had no problems with them sticking, but I did clean everything with alcohol first, which made the truck bed bright enough. The clips that come with them are a joke, and you only get enough for about half of one strip with them. I didn't need them because the double-sided tape worked perfectly fine. I placed one of the strips under my tailgate to make my trailer hitch more visible at night.
It's simple to set up in general. Instead of hardwiring it to the truck's main battery, I used it on the underside of a tonneau cover using the sicky method and wired it to a small 12v AA battery box. In the future, I may hardwire it, but for now, I'm testing it out this way. It's bright, well-made, and appears to stay in place. Because I live in an area where the summers are hot and the winters are harsh, I'll update my review once it's been through all four seasons and possibly a hardwire job. If you're on the fence about it right now, I'd strongly advise you to give it a shot.
Because there are numerous linking options and extra wire, this product was perfectly configured for my application and can easily be installed in many other applications.
This is fantastic! One is mounted on three sides of my pressure washing trailer, and it illuminates the entire area. The images on display were taken without the use of a flash on the camera. Up to 40 feet away, I have a clear view of the entire work area.
Because I'm doing a completely custom install, I didn't use any of the supplied wiring. The image below shows the results of the first fitting and brightness test. The brightness is excellent, and the protective coating that is built into the strips appears to be very long-lasting. Even though I used alcohol wipes to clean the surfaces, the adhesive did not stick well for me, but I did try to install them on very cold metal, so that's probably my fault; I decided to mount them in an aluminum channel for extra strength and protection anyway.
This is a fantastic lighting strip. The colors are extremely vivid. My truck's back end was nicely lit up. Installing it was a breeze.
