It will, in my opinion. It fit perfectly on my 99, and the flooring isn't all that different from what I see on my brother's 97.
It came with screws, but I replaced them with screws that were longer and wider in diameter. You'll almost certainly have to follow suit.
No, I don't believe so. In 98, the design appears to have changed.
It should, because it fits all 4WD f series broncos and f 150s from 1986 to 1996.

4x4 96 F Series Shifter boot from a Ford 4x4! I just used longer screws so I could get it to screw down to the floor like the OEM one did.
Floor boot for 4X4 shifter that matches the original. By far the most affordable price was found here. Original Equipment Manufacturer Ford Quality.
As a rule of thumb, I recommend using a screw that is slightly longer. Fits perfectly on my 1995 Ford F150 and looks fantastic. Because the short screws provided make installation nearly impossible, I recommend using a slightly longer screw. Although the back side of the plastic body does not touch the carpet, it is barely noticeable and can only be felt by running your hand across the back.
It doesn't quite fit my 1992 Ford F150; the old one was flush with the floor, whereas this one is about an inch higher. It did, however, cover the hole, which is a good thing.
For the Ford F250 4x4 truck, this is a nice replacement boot for the transfer case shifter.
150 The only reason for the discount is because of fitment, which is not the seller's fault by any means, but rather the way Ford made it. It was a pain in the ass to get the screw holes to line up, but it arrived ahead of schedule. Allows for the use of longer screws for installation, whereas OEM screws are extremely difficult to line up. No need to drill new holes; with a little finagling, it fits perfectly. There were a few curse words used during the installation, though.
NOS Ford part was exactly what I was looking for for my restoration project.
I didn't realize it was an OE part until it arrived, but it was a great price for original equipment.
