Check to see if the screw thread under your current shift knob matches one of the four adapters included.

You will not be disappointed if you purchase this now. It's something I wish I'd known about earlier. It's very nice and smooth, but most importantly, it's very heavy. It's a lot easier to shift than my car's factory knob or the crappy light aftermarket knob. If you enjoy driving, this or any other high-quality one-pound plus shift knob is a must-have. The instructions fail to mention that one of the metal adapter's sides has slots cut into it. Place this side of the shifter stem down. This way, if you sell your car and want to keep your badass shift knob, you can unscrew the adapter from the ball with a large screwdriver and replace it with one of the other included adapters that fits your new car. The only thing I'd like is for the company to make this with a super tight leather cover so that temperature is never an issue, as other leather knobs are either overpriced or held on by those ineffective set screws. The knob appears to be sturdy and well-made (hence the two stars rather than one). The description, on the other hand, is deceptive. While M12x1 has a plethora of knobs, For some reason, the M12x1 has a limited selection of 25 thread adapters. My Audi requires a rating of 5, which I have. I only liked this one because it was under $100. Not impossible to fix with some drilling or a separate adapter, but if I had known it from the start, I would have probably gone with one of the many other options available. I believe this is a deliberate misrepresentation intended to entice Audi/Volkswagen owners.
On Amazon, I found a used/open deal for $25, so I took advantage of it. There were hardly any signs of use on the package when it arrived. As a result, I was quite pleased. Initial thoughts: It's a little taller than the original and a lot taller than the countersunk shift knob on my Renegade. Despite the fact that I prefer countersunk knobs, this one felt much more crisp. The throws were a little rough-and-tumble. er, but in a positive way My only complaint is that the knob is prone to coming loose from time to time. I've hand-tightened them several times, but they continue to loosen. I'll just tighten them with a vice grip and see what happens. However, I am satisfied with the purchase overall.
M12x1 is not compatible. Shift rods with 5 threads The shift knob is nicely weighted. It has a nice feel in the hand and is listed as fitting M12x1. This is incorrect, as there are five shifters. It is compatible with M12x1 as are many others. There are 25 people who can shift. br>br>I used a 27/64 drill to drill out one of the M10 adapters (they're aluminum) and an M12x1 to replace it. To make it work, you'll need to tap five times. br>br>Reduced by one star due to the inadequate description; I was specifically looking for knobs that would fit my vehicle. br>br>In case anyone is curious, the inserts are M20x2. Thread pitch of 5.
I just got it today and haven't had a chance to put it in yet. Upon first inspection, the product appears to be in good condition. machined and well-coated with a wrinkle-resistant finish powder coat of this type I appreciate how understated the brand name is. The 400 gram weight is solid, and the shift knob has a great feel to it. I prefer weighted shift knobs, and I believe this one will suit my needs perfectly. It's also less expensive than some of the alternatives.
I couldn't justify spending $60 on a shift knob for my 2013 Subaru WRX, and I also wanted to reduce the height (despite the fact that the shifter is short). I remembered DC Sports having good products when I had my Acura, so I chose this knob in the hopes of a good weight knob. br>br>The entire ball is made of a steel alloy of some sort, in my opinion. It has a magnetic quality to it, but it isn't completely magnetic. It's a good weight, and it comes with metal adapters. Basically, you thread the adapter (if necessary) flush with the shift knob on your shifter. I didn't have to worry about cross threading or thread damage from overtorquing because it's made of metal. br>br>It does lower the position a little, but not too much. It still has a lot of leverage and makes changing gears a lot easier. The temperature was 47 degrees Fahrenheit this morning, and the knob was cold but not unbearably so. I'm sure the temperature will be a little extreme during the winter and hot summer, but I've been considering plasti dipping the knob for some insulation. br>br>In any case, this is a top-of-the-line weighted shift knob. The finish is excellent; it does not feel cheap and looks fantastic on the vehicle. There will be a gap after you remove your stock shift knob, so if that bothers you and you want to keep the cover underneath, you'll want to get the shift knob boot retainer.
It already has a little rust on it. In comparison to others, I thought my Ford Focus stock shift knob was heavy, but this thing is BEEFY. The only issue is that the inside of the knob has already developed some rust (2nd photo). Being on the interior, it isn't a big deal, but it isn't the best quality control. The thread adapters were useful, but removing them will be a pain if you plan on switching shift boots at any point.
Metal adapters are something I really enjoy. On my 1997 Prelude, it's fantastic. Identical to the mishimoto in terms of weight and price. However, I really like how these come with metal adapters so they can be reused.
