Questions & Answers

Is it possible to use this with the Infiniti M35?

To be honest, I'm not sure. You'll need to see if the seats in these two vehicles are the same and have the same P/N.

Is this compatible with a Nissan Maxima from 1996?

No, this is only a direct fit for the Nissan Murano; it might work with some modification and possibly welding.

Is this compatible with the driver's seat bracket on the left side? This is the third time it's been replaced! ?

Yes, if your Nissan Murano is left-hand drive, it should fit perfectly as long as the specifications are correct for the model year. For what it's worth, if this is your third replacement, you may need to purchase/replace the entire seat bracket to avoid having to replace it again anytime soon. It will be costly, but quality trumps quantity in this case. I hope you find this information useful.

Is this product compatible with power seats?

I had power seats, which worked perfectly. I had it installed by my mechanic, who charged me for two hours of his time.

Not in the traditional sense

I bought this APDTY and a Dorman seat bracket at the same time because I thought I might need one for the front and one for the back on my 2007 Murano; APDTY was the first to release this bracket, and I was hoping it would work; however, it's a good thing I bought the Dorman because this APDTY brand bracket was not square where the seat frame attached and came apart when I tried to loosen it up. br> Both the APDTY and the Dorman were stiff right out of the box, and when I tried to loosen them up, the APDTY snapped at the hinge. Dorman was stiff as well, but it relaxed after I stretched it out a few times. I decided to return this APDTY while keeping the Dorman. br>By the way, if you try it on your own, it's actually quite simple. It took me about two hours to disassemble it and 15 minutes to put it back together. There are a plethora of YouTube videos available; however, raw metal edges can be dangerous.

It does the job, but it isn't a perfect match
3/5

I had a professional upholstery installer install the product, and we were both impressed with the build quality and sturdiness of it compared to the stock Nissan part; however, it is just a hair wider and stiffer than stock, making the seat difficult to move back and forth, clearly putting a lot of stress on the motor and cheap gears. It technically works and is a better option than replacing the entire seat for $1000 as Nissan proposes, but it isn't a perfect fit. My installer told me that he usually just welds and reinforces the stock part, so you might want to look for someone who can do that instead.

If you're reading this review, you already know why you're looking at this part: it fits a 2005 Murano driver's side
4/5

br> It's a pain to install, but yes, using this part on your Murano can save you $1,000 or more. br>If you have half a brain, follow the YT videos and you'll be fine. br>br>Mine fit perfectly, but the metal enameling was so thick that I had to work the moving joints free to allow them to move. It's possible that the chair motors did the same thing, but why put them through that if I can relieve the strain on the 20-year-old hardware? In any case, give them a try to see if they work properly, and best of luck.

This is something that you can do on your own
5/5

It's fantastic to discover an aftermarket product like this that corrects a manufacturer's error for a fraction of the cost of having it repaired by Nissan. Nissan quoted $1500 on the internet, but I didn't bother to look it up. Is this going to be under $100? Perfect. It arrived quickly, and I followed the YouTube video "Murano Seat Bracket Link Assembly Removal/Replacement" to the letter. When I compared the two brackets, the product is extremely well made and appears to be superior in every way. The most difficult part was pushing and holding the foam back so that the nuts under the seat bottom could be removed. This is possible with a set of metric flat ratchet wrenches, and I would go even further and recommend a set with a flexing head. Holding back the foam wouldn't have been as difficult if the wrench head could flex a little; I saw these at HD when I bought my set but bought the regular ones instead. Still, it wasn't a big deal because the ratchet set was functional. The 12mm and 14mm wrenches were the only ones required. From the time I opened the driver's door to the time I closed it after finishing the job, it took me about four hours. This was fantastic, and I would do it again in a heartbeat.

This is a good part that will save you a lot of money if you have a Nissan seat break
5/5

For the most part, I wouldn't call this a do-it-yourself repair. It's a Chinese Dorman part, but it's thicker and more durable than the junk Nissan used previously. I didn't notice the ends were welded on straight, which appeared to be a problem, so I returned the first one I ordered. The second was even more heinous: I decided to go ahead and repair it by cutting it apart and rewelding it if necessary. The crookedness that I was concerned about turned out to be unimportant, and everything works fine as is.
