Questions & Answers

Is the length of the jumper cables specified? I currently have a roadside kit with only 4 foot long jumper cables. ?

Jay, I double-checked with my husband, and he confirmed that the jumper cables we received were longer than 4 feet (approximately 6 or 7 feet), but that they were too light to start his car when he needed it. He was forced to borrow jumper cables from another person. I'm afraid I have bad news for you.

Is it true that it includes a AAA membership brochure, but not a membership? And how long will it last?

A membership brochure (also known as an information sheet) is a brochure about memberships, not a membership itself. Any additional members can be added (or cancelled) at any time by the primary member. br>Depending on your needs, you can choose from Basics, Plus, or Premier.

Three different bags are shown in the photo. Which one am I going to choose?

Despite the fact that the three bags appear to be different, they all contain the same items. They're all equipped with jumper cables, flashlights, and ponchos, for example. You will receive a flashlight, which may or may not be the same as the one shown in any of the photos.

What wire gauge do the cables have?

I tried to use cheap cables, but they melted. Don't waste your money on these, instead look for Bridgestone it Energizer cables with 1 or 2 wires.

BUY THIS KIT AT YOUR OWN RISK! According to the reviews, the biggest issue was that the number of items in the kit was misleading
3/5

I purchased two of them, one for each car. Then my car's battery died, and I attempted to jumpstart it. THE CABLES MELTED, causing damage to my vehicle. They were advertised as AAA approved, so I decided to buy them. I'll be contacting both AAA and Amazon to seek compensation for what turned out to be a terrible experience. in addition to being costly! - buy.

AAA has no right to exist
3/5

AAA should be embarrassed for putting their logo on this. br>The first aid kit (bandaids) makes up 24 of the 42 pieces! br>A baggie is one of the 42 pieces (really? )br>A photo of the contents is attached. br>I immediately returned it.

Don't Throw Your Money Away - a "42- Rip-off" off
3/5

It's now that I've realized how important it is to read customer reviews before making a purchase. AAA should be ashamed of themselves for even endorsing such a sham. off. The following are some of the "42 pieces": br>20 bandagesbr>3 handiwipesbr>1 ziplock bagbr>1 sting relief padbr>Brochure for AAA Membershipbr>Papersbr>Cable tiesbr>Shop Clothbr>Duct tapebr>Batteriesbr>"Emergency" Ponchobr>Oh yeah, you get the booster cables, a "2-pack" of batteries, and a "2-pack" of batteries A 1" screwdriver and a flashlight are required. In addition, there is a carry bag that counts as one of the 42 items. br>I'm pretty sure I can put together a 1000-word essay in no time. For around $12, you can get a similar kit (with more bandaids!). More ziplock bags are needed! Handiwipes, handiwipes, handiwipes, handi )br>Excuse my sarcasm, but this was a huge letdown. I now have to pay a few dollars in order to return this useless bag. At the very least, I'll be able to tell interesting stories at dinner parties.

TERRIBLE! Don't buy it because it's not safe; you'll be sorry! To begin with, it's a bit shabby
3/5

I was surprised at how poor the kit's quality was, given that it had the AAA seal on it. But I'm not going to get into that right now. Let us discuss the HAZARD! br>br>These thin jumper cables are included in the kit. My car broke down, and I needed to jump my battery. When I removed my cables, I was astounded by the poor quality. Nonetheless, I reasoned, "Hey, it has the AAA seal. " Everything ought to be fine. "NO, NO, NO!" The conductors sparked as soon as the other side of the cable was connected to the battery, smoke began to build, and the cables MELTED! Oh, and guess what? THE CAR WASN'T TURNED ON AT ALL! This thing was fried simply by connecting two batteries together. So, what did I do in the end? br>br> "Oh yeah, those kits are crap," the tow truck driver said when I called AAA to come jump my car.

Packaging and marketing are extremely deceptive
3/5

I should've paid attention to the fine print. A plastic ziplock bag in which they placed items counts as a piece, and there are three pieces for the batteries that go into the flashlight. They provide 5 plastic tie straps, each counting as a piece, (2) forms (AAA brochure and Accident Form), which were not even present, each counting as a piece, and so on, until you have a total of 8 pieces. Long-time AAA member who is dissatisfied with the way this product was promoted. Having said that, I did not delve into the specifics, so buyer beware, I suppose.

The jumper cables were a bit disappointing
3/5

As a long-time resident of the United States, I purchased this kit for my teen daughter's car because I am a long-time AAA member. When some family members came to visit, we needed jumper cables. Because my daughter's car lacked a set of cables, we had to wait for my husband to return home with our family vehicle in order to jump start the family's vehicle. br>As a result, I placed an order for this case for our daughter and placed it in the trunk of her car. br>The battery in her relatively new car died shortly after the purchase. As a result, I drew out my trusty pocketknife. I was quite pleased with myself for having purchased the handy AAA kit and for having the foresight to do so. br>I was disappointed that the jumper cables' clamps didn't open wide enough to cover her Buick's battery contacts. In addition, the cables were too short to reach the battery in the other car. br>As a result, I had to wait for my husband to return home before I could jump start the car. As a result, I can only award three stars to this kit.

Money that could have been better spent
3/5

They must be joking with me, because I've been punked. There were not 42 pieces in the bag, even after I counted the plastic bags in which they placed the items, which I'm sure they did as well. The orange vest, three bandages, fuses, AAA car care guide, AAA membership brochure, shop cloth, and AAA storage bag were all clearly missing. Everything is made on a shoestring budget, with materials that are less expensive than those found in a Dollar Store. I'm going to return it and either buy another kit or make my own. This one was a huge letdown, but oh well.
