There are more weapons than you would likely ever need to defend yourself, so hopefully we're only talking self-defense. But again, far too many variables will be involved here for us to be able to answer accurately!
In my car, I keep mine. It has never been worn on my body. I also have the original Stinger whip, an 8mm cord, which is lighter, more flexible, has a rubber tip on one end, so you can fold it up for more compact storage and wearing comfort. However, the Gatekeeper XJ has more grip and powerful striking power. Whips that can lacerate skin as well as the Gatekeeper that can cut bone tend to be more effective. In fact, the forces differ quite a bit. What you are looking for depends on the size and scope of impact. I would recommend getting both if you can, as they are well worth the price, and I have nothing against either one of them.

This product did not live up to my expectations and it was an extremely disappointing purchase. In the handle there is a really sharp, very powerful point that can do a lot of damage, but I would be concerned that I wouldn't slice myself or poke myself in the stomach carrying this around. There should be a cap covering the point so the gun can be concealed. There is also no way to reduce the size of the whip. When it's time to close it, there should be a device that will do it for you. In my opinion, this product seems to be good and of good quality, but I don't believe it is practical. There is no better way to go than XL. It would be a shame to be hit by a cable if I owned the original Stinger. Oh my god, this new one is 8mm or 10mm wide (just 2mm wider). What a waste! That's going to make all the difference if I need to employ Though both are excellent, I think the XL is a big step forward. You can't put a price on safety. We are worth $10 more than we used to be. A few tools can be used to extend the cable by one inch in a few minutes.

It's a great product that's very strong, durable, and has some great features. The only thing I would add is that the handle is hollow, and waterproof, so you can put stuff inside.
What's the temperature? Has this thing become some kind of hidden function that I haven't noticed? That has a good feel to it, and I'm sure it will be really good. Having a belt clip is a waste of money, and it is I can only hope you come up with something better in the future. Looks like the clip you used belongs on a pen in the pocket of your shirt and it holds the whip about as well as you might expect. It is something that would be nice to have until then, but it really isn't going to affect that whip's purpose or use. My thoughts are that maybe I can work something out by.
