Questions & Answers

My attention has been drawn to the fact that the pin of the glass breaker What if the piece I received was defective or if it was purposely damaged?

At the moment, I am at work and my tool is in my truck. I don't know the answer to the alignment question. A list of instructions that will show you how to test the glass breaker is available

What is the TSA's policy on this on airplanes? What item tends to be confiscated or disallowed if it has a blade?

It doesn't seem unreasonable to put it in your check-in luggage, but if you ask TSA it shouldn't be an issue if it's on your list. A carrier's chances of taking it on board are about 50/50 if they are in a backpack or pocket. In short, the blade is not exposed and cannot be exposed in a way to constitute a threat. However, common sense and the TSA should not occupy the same space, if you ask me (grin). If you are unable to find an answer on TSA's web site, you might want to call ResQme customer service and ask them. They may be able to help you as well.

Would there be a need to use this to break a car window from outside if someone was trapped in a car?

Without a doubt. There are hundreds of police departments across the country that carry the device as standard equipment and use it in an emergency to get into vehicles. It works just as well from the inside as from the outside of tempered glass windows.

What happens if you use this tool on a window that has been submerged ?

The vehicle is actively filling up with water, so please call 911 as soon as possible. That would, however, be a good idea.

A compact design. It is inexpensive. Is there a reason not to? My job is as a firefighter, and I have used this tool on the job for many years, and it has never let me down. It is important to explain a few things to anyone who buys Wear gloves if you can! Activating it requires that you push it against the window with some force, and once it breaks, your hand is free to follow the shards as they fall forward. An occasional hole surrounded by cracked glass is all that is left. There's nothing dull about it. The pain is excruciating. Rather than continuing forward when the glass breaks if you do not have gloves, consciously decide not to continue. 3) The side windows are made of tempered glass and the windshield is There is no need for a windshield or rear windshield to use this. In contrast, side windows "cube" while windshields are not cracked because of the plastic sheeting that holds the fragments Despite the "spidering", it is difficult to kick out a windshield after it has become stuck. 3. A good place for the spot is usually near a corner (about 2" to 3" square) Three inches from the corner) and you'll have less chance of putting your hand through it. Did I say that glass had a sharp edge? What about the pain? The answer is yes. It does, that's for sure! 4) If you have someone conscious and are trying to get them out of a car. Breaking a window should be accompanied by turning away from the audience. Due to that. As you probably A sharp edge. A hurtful feeling. 5*) An additional seat- With belt cutters, you will have better results if you can pull the belt taught with your other hand. 6) If you can hang it from your The possibility of it falling off is high. Break off from one another. The ones I use on my helmet go in the rubber flashlight band. I don't want to give you any advice on where you should place it, in other words. I think so. It's ok. 7) These don't work everything the same way I've lost interest in the argument. My usual practice when I get a new one is to fire it on a thick piece of cardboard or soft wood to see if it works. 8) Hold against the window and push until you see it pop. All that is left is to say thank you. I wish you a safe journey. Keep that in mind. It is hard to see through the glass. The pain is excruciating!.

The key is to - The rings are too heavy to be used for duty

This is what I bought last week to attach to my MVA carabiner to use at wreck sites as a firefighter. A rollover MVA with a passenger suspended in the car by her seatbelt occurred last night. When trying to unlock the belt using the traditional method, the lady's weight kept the belt from being unlocked. When the vehicle was stabilized and we began to extricate it, I crawled inside and began taking care of the patient. In a lucky turn of events, she was conscious and only slightly injured. I was going to try to free her from the top of the car (which was the driver's side) while the top was being removed, so that she would be as comfortable as possible while having spreaders/cutters and a sawzall in the air 2 feet above her Getting my flashlight out, I fumbled around under the blanket for my new tool. I grabbed the carabiner off of my turnout and looked around for my new requirement. There was no sign of it. It is important to - It seems that my biner ring is still attached, but I have yet to find the tool. The reason I got off shift this morning and went searching was that I had lost the tool in the engine bay behind the rig, which I discovered this morning when I got off shift and went searching for it. A piece of plastic had broken off at the key-hole There was a ring which had been sitting there for some time. . .
I shouldn't be bitter, after all, I've seen them in action, and they do work. You just have to be careful how you stage them with another piece of gear, since they are not the most durable.

I have literally used this tool to cut hundreds of seatbelts and provide access to hundreds of people during my 15 years as an EMT. My only reason for buying more of them is that eventually the seatbelt cutter will dull, or I give them away to friends. Over the course of its life, a tool will punch through multiple windows and cut many seatbelts before you will need another. As a personal keychain, I carry one just in case I need to use it off duty or go in the water. Every time I do my shift at work, I wear one of these. I give it ten stars!.

I've got it working
4/5

This particular glass breaker works most of the time. I've used several types of glass breakers, so hopefully I can give some insight. As long as you don't get a faulty unit, it should break most windows, but not necessarily at the first attempt. The unit may also need to be placed in a particular place. When a glass breaker is being used, it is most effective to locate it in the smallest corner of the window. Test the unit to see if it will push the glass breaker out of the way If it's not faulty), pull the piece away from the hole with your fingers. The conical tip must forcefully spring out to prove it is not malfunctioning. I am not sure if there is a glass breaker that will break every window every single time in one blow. Now, some people might think it is faulty because it doesn't always break every window every time. The glass might not break on the first attempt, but this does not mean nothing Just enough has been weakened to cause the structure to weaken, but not enough to shatter the window. The key is to keep pressing the button at the same spot against the window. When a tempered window is pushed a second time or a third time, it will shatter. Be careful not to push too hard as your hand could fly through the window and get cut by the glass if you do so. You can practice using the tool on other hard surfaces to see how the glass breaker leaves a small indentation. Push the spring hard enough for it to activate, but stop pushing after it has. In this case, you will not be able to enter the window with your arm. In addition to the glass breakers I mentioned earlier, there are many other types as well. From now until the end of the year The loaded center punch types, like the one made by Fire Hooks Unlimited, work very well (better than resqme) due to their stronger spring. The only problem is that you have to push so very hard that your hand will often fly through the window with these. In my opinion, Zak Tools' range of products are the best. In order to use this device, you have to pull back a spring and then release it with a weight, which strikes the conical tip putting tremendous pressure on a tiny area. This type of glass breaker has the greatest advantage of being able to control the amount of force used. You can pull the spring back as far as you can, and the force will be greater than what is provided by the spring, which will break any window in one strike. Since you are not pushing against the window, your hand will not likely fly through and get scraped by the Another type of device is the Lifehammer - Because I have never used them, I cannot comment on their quality, but there seems to be a few lingering issues. It is hard to beat the convenience of the RESQME when it comes to convenience. I am very pleased with the design. Keep it on your key chain, pull the key out of the keeper, and you're all set. In addition to being the most compact, this type of glass breaker is made of stainless steel. The majority of people will not need a device of this kind very often if at all, so a convenient, smaller model will probably be preferable to a large, heavy-duty one. The most efficient way to prepare food in your home for everyday consumption is to eat homemade food. Professionals (firefighters, rescue workers, etc. ) should get a heavier duty tool, such as some of the ones I mentioned, and get a separate seatbelt cutting tool (like the one made by Fire Hooks Unlimited) that you can attach to a ResQMe should take these recommendations into consideration There are a couple of improvements that could make this tool perfect. I believe that if they had a stronger spring, with a force requirement of 20+ pounds, it would be much less likely to fail. It is understandable that some people (children or the elderly) have difficulty pushing that hard, but the new device could be called "ResQMe Pro" or something similar, while the original is retained for marketing purposes. These improvements would doubtless raise the cost of the device, perhaps even double it, but then it would serve as a compact, reliable, and practical tool for experts, one that will work every time and will not wear down after repeated use.
