Selected User Reviews For Auto Meter 2610 Z-Series Mechanical Vacuum Gauge,2.3125 in.
I've purchased a number of Autometer gauges for various projects, and they've all performed admirably. It's the same with this one. The vac gauge's only flaw is that it doesn't show fluctuation/fluttering that can be seen with a vac gauge right next to the manifold. This is a drawback of having such a long, thin line between the manifold and gauge; I'm not sure if increasing the tubing size from the kit's 1/8" would help.
It's a fantastic-looking piece of work. It was sufficient to install a good-looking gauge that worked well. It's easy for a plastic tube to kink - I ended up purchasing a long length of vacuum hose and connecting it to short (3 inch) sections of the plastic tube, which works much better. br>br>Unfortunately, depending on the weather, the gauge fogs up quite frequently. It's not a big deal because you can still see what's going on, but it does appear to be an annoyance.
Despite the fact that the website stated that two items were in stock, we received an email about a week after placing our order informing us that they had discovered a problem with the gauge prior to shipping it to us and that we might be interested in some discounted headlights. A headlight, as far as I can tell, is not a good substitute for a vacuum gauge. What did they have in their heads? The good news is that the refund appears to have gone through without a hitch (although it has yet to appear on my bank statement).
