Everything you see there is included, as well as some clear vac line. I replaced the clear vac line with some black rubber stuff because I thought it would be better for routing through the firewall into the engine bay, but the clear stuff it comes with would probably work fine. You can expect to tap into the dash lights with a little wire and connectors. Almost everything you'll require is already present. br>br>This is a useful tool for fuel economy tuning and driving.
If your advance is hooked up correctly, the only time you have vacume is when you step on the gas. Every manifold should have some sort of vacume hook up on it, it just needs to be capped off, and no, you can't hook it up with your advance port.
Yes, you can adjust the angle of the gauge to your liking.

This was purchased because engine vacuum can reveal a lot about an engine, and it was purchased specifically because it was an auto meter made auto gage from their budget line. A premium vacuum gauge is not available from Auto Meter. br>br>The disadvantage of being labeled auto gage is that it matches the other auto gage gauges in size, being 2 inch rather than 2 1/16 inch. It's kind of a bummer because I'm replacing my factory gauge cluster with all new gauges on a custom-made steel sheet; I'm just glad I haven't drilled out the gauge holes yet. br>br>By the way, the description does not state that this is a 2 inch gauge, which it should be. The lack of information on this listing makes me a little disappointed. br>br>Apart from that, it should be an accurate gauge that will tell me if I have a lead foot and need to back off from time to time. br>br>Of course, get some good black rubber hose for the gauge, as the clear hoses that come with these always close under heavy vacuum.
The gauge is simple to read and connect to the vehicle with a rubber vacuum line purchased at a local auto parts store. As most reviewers point out, the aquarium tubing that comes with this gauge should be discarded or used for something else. I was looking for a fluid-filled, illuminated vacuum gauge but couldn't find one, so I settled for this illuminated AutoMeter gauge. When I added a "Dorman Help!" sign to the gauges, they became less jumpy. The vacuum line to the gauge has a 47311 Restrictor attached to it, though it shows about 7 inches of mercury less vacuum than the ECU and shop gauge. This is grudgingly acceptable for my purposes as a visual aid to assist me in lowering my fuel consumption.
I like to know what's going on in my cars, particularly the older ones. This is a low-cost, long-term diagnostic tool that was installed in a 1996 Geo Metro 1. cylinder with a displacement of 0L The plastic tubing barely reaches from the MAP sensor to the other side of the car, but the kit's parts allowed for a successful installation (more tubing can be purchased at a home improvement store's plumbing section if needed). I went with a 2-inch square. I used an inch hole saw to drill a hole to the left of the steering wheel (I checked for wires or steel beams behind the hole before drilling). It showed a slightly low vacuum (about 16" when idling) and a lightly shaking needle after installation, confirming a leaking exhaust valve on 3 (a very common problem in metros). I did a compression test a few months ago, and 3 was the only low-cost option. cylinder with high performance (100 psi; Normal pressure ranges between 160 and 200 psi). Because the backlight in the photo is right next to a geo metro's dimmer switch, it was simple to integrate it with the existing lighting. Both green and red light-emitting diodes are included in the kit. I believe Autometer carries other colors of bulb covers (the bezels/covers have been removed because a 3-way switch is used). The car will also have a four-cylinder tachometer cluster installed).
As far as driving habits for the best fuel economy go, this is an eye-opener. We didn't use the light because it was too bright. bulb. Perhaps we'll include it now that the days are getting shorter. When we do, we'll use LED bulbs. "Yoper BA9S 53 57 1895 64111 LED Light Bulb for Car 12V White" The bulb size is BA9S, which stands for BA(Bayonet), 9(9mm), and S(Single Contact on Base).
Made in Taiwan, I think it's a bit overpriced. br>The included hose is a joke; mine collapsed in a section as soon as I took it out of the package. br>I thought I'd get away with it until I needed some hose and happened to be near a parts store. br>Now, if I want to use the gauge, I'll either have to make a special trip to a parts store or wait until I pass one. In this case, I believe we are paying for the brand name.
The left-to-right sweep on these gauges is one of my favorites. br>The color of the faceplate assists passengers in understanding that higher numbers indicate better gas mileage. br>I bought five and plan to use them on a few of our vehicles. They are instruments that are designed to assist you in learning how to drive and getting the most out of your vehicle's fuel efficiency. br>br>If the clear hose has a problem, I'll replace it with vacuum hose from an automobile manufacturer. br>I just finished installing one in a 1951 Chevrolet 2 ton truck.
Simple, functional, and with a variety of lighting colors to choose from! It's fairly simple to set up, but finding a vacuum port can be a challenge. Then there's the matter of locating the instrument panel lighting wire, which is a little more difficult but not impossible. A vacuum gauge can teach you a lot about your driving and your car!.
I like that it can be mounted in a gauge pod as well; it fits perfectly, and the interior lighting is fantastic. The gauge is very useful and simple to read. br>On the inside of the gauge, there was a white ring that irritated me. It's possible that this is due to the fact that Autometer's AutoGage brand is used. br>I installed this gauge in a 1970 Monte Carlo with a custom-built SHP 427 SBC with all-forged internals.
