For axle end to go into, 3 inch OD with a 1 9/16th hole in the middle.br> The 3in diameter has a ring of powerful magnets embedded in it.
Older vehicles require the removal of the magnet and installation of an appropriate threaded adapter in place of the magnet to be threaded onto the spindle, while newer vehicles require the removal of the magnet and installation of an appropriate threaded adapter in place of the magnet to be threaded onto the spindle. These gauges were designed for race cars, but they also work well on regular cars. This is a vintage design from the 1940s and 1950s. 60s, but you'll need a pair of turntables under the front wheels to check the caster, which are still available - ebay, craigslist, and so on!
I'm assuming you're referring to the bubble gauges. Northern Virginia is where I call home. and it is not a problem I've used it for alignments several times and consider it to be a high-quality piece of gear.

First and foremost, let me state this: When I received the package, I noticed a small crunch in the end of the box (it was left on my porch while I was gone, or I would have told the delivery driver); when I opened the box, I discovered the instrument case had some damage, and the Vial on thebr>end of the instrument itself was broken; I believe the case could be a little longer so more padding could be on the ends of the case; I also believe the case could be a little longer so more padding could be on the ends The tool is of good quality and design (except the case needs more padding on the ends) and works well after playing with it a little to get used to the vials and the routine to check Camber. br>Now, as for the tool, it is of good quality and design (except the case needs more padding on the ends) and works well after playing with it a little to get used to the vials and the routine to check Camber, but Amazon gave their typical goodbr>service and I returned and In fact, my 1994 Ford Van, which I had aligned three times by So Called Prosbr>with Computerized equipment at two different locations, still pulled to one side and had uneven tire wear, even though I could tell the Camber was off with my eyes alone on flat ground, but the Computerized Machines said it was fine. The van steers much better and tracks perfectly after using the tool and adjusting Camber and Caster, a significant improvement with perfect tire wear. You should also check toe, which thisbr>tool isn't designed for; if you don't have one, I recommend making one; I made mine by welding nuts onto a piece of angle and then using bolts to adjust it to fit against the front and back of the inside of the rims; typically, you want just a little toe in at the front, so if yourbr>tool is snug in the front and just a little loose in the back, you should be fine.
This, combined with some linoleum tiles, got me into the habit of checking my own alignment. It's a shame, but I can take my SUV to three different alignment shops, each with the most precise and expensive laser systems, and come out with three different alignments. None of them come close to meeting OEM specifications. It is what it is, and all I needed was this tool, a few plates, and some tape measures.
Simple to work with. This tool is extremely well-made. It's a breeze to work with. On my 1979 Corvette, I used it to get over 4 degrees of positive caster. The alignment shops I spoke with would only adjust my alignment to OEM standards, not to performance specifications.
A 1972 Chevrolet truck was aligned with this product. No one in my area seemed to be able to properly align it, and this was the perfect fit! One of my pet peeves was that the product did not include a magnet adapter, which I had to buy separately. I would recommend this product to anyone who needs to align their front wheels.
Work great on my classic mustang and the mustangs of a couple of friends. It's dead on. Simple to work with.
The large bubble gauge is easy to work with even for small adjustments once the car is in the air, and it makes for easy reference once the car is in the air.
You already know what it does if you're thinking about purchasing it. The controls are incredibly simple to use. I would have given it 5 stars if not for the fact that the case is cheaply made and mine arrived cracked. It does, however, accomplish its goal.
It's well-made and simple to read. This is a very nice case.
