Questions & Answers
Although I believe it could be used for either, I prefer to use it for oil pressure. Also included with this gauge is an oil faceplate, but I believe that a different color or fuel-specific faceplate can be purchased separately.
The black bezel is a yes, but the black fuel faceplate is a no. For the black fuel faceplate, you'll need to purchase an accessory pack. br>br>According to the AEM website: " The black bezel and black oil pressure faceplate are standard on the 0301. You'll have to pay extra for the 30-minute option. 0301- The silver bezel, white oil pressure faceplate, black fuel pressure faceplate, and white fuel pressure faceplate can all be found in the ACC accessory kit.
Power, ground, and a sensor are all required. Nothing out of the ordinary.

AEM UEGO wideband was already installed in my car. Despite all of the negative and mediocre reviews, I decided to buy this one to match. I figured I'd just get the warranty and hope for the best; don't make the same mistake I did. The gauge worked perfectly the first time I used it, but the readings were all extremely low the second time I drove the car. The gauge is hooked up correctly, but the sensor voltage isn't eight, so I checked the voltage to the sensor and at the signal wire. I contacted AEM tech support, who advised me to remove the sensor and test it under different pressures. So now I have to REMOVE the BRAND NEW PART, dig out my compressor, and rig it up to the compressor, all to see if they'll replace it or make me jump through more hoops. br>br>This is a lot of additional time for something I should have anticipated. br>br>However, it looks fantastic in there. br>br>Recent changes: br>br> I connected the gauge to my air compressor and tested various pressures according to AEM tech support: I started at 80 PSI and gradually decreased pressure to test every 20 PSI, before testing 10 and 5 PSI. Despite being outside of the specified range, the gauge was extremely accurate. As a result, I only gave it a three-star rating. If you have the ability to test the gauge before installing it, take advantage of it. Unfortunately, given the accuracy of the gauge, my engine is most likely toast.
This item was defective when it arrived new in the box. When the sensor is exposed to free air, the gauge reads 29 psi. Callee aem support, and after some troubleshooting, it was determined that the gauge was defective. They requested that I destroy it, send them a photo of the gauge that had been destroyed, and then they would send me a replacement. The problem is the same. Anyway, I decided to try it out on the car and see what happens. The gauge would show "sense" or something if the pressure was greater than 100 psi. When oil pressure was high and the car was idling, it eventually read 95 psi. I quickly installed a low-cost mechanical gauge to confirm that this was not the case. When cruising, oil pressure was below 100 psi, and when hot and idle, it was closer to 35 psi. I called customer service again to find out that I had the 50 psi sensor instead of the 100 psi sensor that should have come with the package. What is causing this? This should work right out of the box and have all of the necessary parts for $200!.
Update: It still says "SENS" six months later, despite the fact that it has been working fine up to this point. Since I set it up, nothing has changed. I had to check the pressure in the fuel line with another gauge to make sure it hadn't dropped, which it hadn't. The sensor or gauge, I believe, has failed. In any case, I don't believe there is a warranty, and no links to contact the seller are visible.
I got a water gauge in a box of oil gauges. Oil gauge sensor with faulty wiring that does not even fit the sensor. Overall, this was a poor purchase. Customer dissatisfied!.
I bought it when I went to get gauges for my car. When I was finally ready to install gauge a few months later, the wires were CUT because they had been used. It's not cool to pay for a brand new product.
This product came with a harness that does not fit. Despite the fact that it is a three-pin connector, a two-pin harness was sent! Also, the picture shows an oil gauge, not a water gauge, and I received a water gauge rather than an oil gauge. Because my package was forwarded to me, I'm all the way in Jamaica! Product description was poor, and it took a long time to arrive.
After 5 months, this item began to display readings even when the engine was turned off.
