Questions & Answers

Could you please tell me the ohm range?

The resistance is 500 ohm at 74 degrees F. The resistance is 200 ohm at 165 degrees F.

What is resistance, and how much does it cost?

The factory-installed unit is identical to this one. I can't give you a precise figure because I don't have one.

Is this supposed to go in the omix ada thermostat housing or on the top driver side of the head? The thermostat housing sending switch has what part number?

This was used on the driver's side of the back of the head.

What is the diameter of the thread on both ends?

1/8- Standard 1/8 pipe tread with 27 npts and 27 treads per inch.

Use it in conjunction with the Omix- Ada temperature gauge 17218 is the number assigned to this temperature sensor
5/5

02 is the one you require for the Omix- 17209 Ada thermometer Only know for sure that it works with the open back style meter, which does not have a back can cover. Their pictures show cans, just like the ones used on the original Jeep CJ5, but the ones I got didn't have any. Don't worry if your ohm meter shows a very high reading if you only measure the resistance on the sensor. The 17209 is a unique number. Due to its internal resistance of about 79 ohm to ground, the value of the 05 meter will be drastically reduced. It's the same 3/8" thread that came standard on my 1972 Jeep CJ5, and it'll fit right over your Jeep's existing wire and connection. I had tried several different temperature sensors that came close to working on my Jeep, but this one was a perfect fit and gave the same reading as the original.

Ada temperature sending unit from OMIX
5/5

I've used this sending unit before and it worked perfectly fine. When the time comes to install it, I expect it to work well. That time will come when more priorities in the intended vehicle's repair/restoration will be addressed. It will also be used in conjunction with an OMIX Ada temperature gauge.

I couldn't use it because it didn't fit in my Jeep
3/5

My Jeep, a 1984 CJ7 with a 258 engine, did not fit. I found another sensor listed that I bought even though Amazon said it did not fit my Jeep; it is about 3/8" thread and needs to be a 5/8" part; it is about 3/8" thread and needs to be a 5/8" part; I found another sensor listed that I bought even though Amazon said it did not fit my Jeep; it is about 3/8" thread and needs to be a 5/8" part; I found another sensor listed that I bought even though Amazon.

It is not an original equipment size, and as other buyers have stated, it is too small
