Yes, my 1978 Chevrolet 454 has a 1/8 pipe thread.
If the gauge is properly installed with the nipple plug facing up, it will not leak. If the air bubble isn't right next to the plug, don't cut it. If you cut the nipple plug before it is perfectly aligned with the air bubble, you may lose some fluid. This is normal and has no bearing on the gauge's operation. Selected User Reviews For Marshall Instruments LB00015 Liquid Filled Fuel Pressure Gauge
It's a nice gauge, but any slight angle causes the fluid to leak out. The gauges on the majority of fuel rails are at a 45-degree angle. Half of the fluid has been lost in the gauge.
It was installed, but it did not function. My high-pressure gauge functioned normally, but this one remained stationary. br>It's simple to set up, but it's a waste of time!.
Even though I haven't installed a snubber between it and my 93 Cummins diesel, after purging the case for my altitude and current temperature, the gauge is very accurate and steady. For the money, this is a very nice manual gauge.
It appeals to me because it is fluid-filled. Use a holley return style regulator to mount it.
I was unable to use this gauge. The scale refused to give me a reading. To ensure that there was no air in the line, stay at zero even after bleeding.
At the time of writing this review, it has been working perfectly for at least six months. All diesel vehicles should have a good fule pressure gauge, in my opinion.
So far, it's done the job well and is of high quality.
I thought it was glass, not plastic, when the clear plastic viewing area went wonky and refused to clear up. I'm not sure if the gauge works yet.
