Yes. It can be used on just about anything that has a spark plug or has two cylinders. It comes with ten spark plugs, which I highly recommend. Knowing the hours on any machine you intend to service is well worth the money. 5 stars! It is simple to set up.

According to the directions, I connected the wire to the spark plug line. When the engine was turned on, the hour glass began to blink, as it should. I walked away for a few minutes and returned to find the display completely blank. It worked for about three minutes before failing completely. When looking at the picture, don't be fooled by the display's size; it's only 1 cm by 2 cm. It's only 5 cm long (3/8 inch by 7/8 inch)! Return was made. I bought a Runleader, and it works perfectly.
Oil changes, valve adjustments, and so on. As a pilot, I've learned to value an accurate hour meter for keeping track of engine times. My only disappointment with this one is that it is completely encased in epoxy, which means that when the battery dies, the unit, as well as its data, dies as well. All I have to do now is wait and see what kind of life it leads before the numbers vanish. One advantage of the way it's embedded is that it appears to be fairly waterproof, which is a great feature for any piece of equipment. Otherwise, it would be a waste of money to run a small engine (or really any spark engine) without an accurate hour meter, which is, by the way, accurate.
I like how low the price is and how creative the idea is. However, I purchased it in the hopes of using it to monitor the activation of a relay coil. Because the description was lacking in detail, I decided to take a chance and try it because the price was low. I just wanted to see how long a 12v relay was on, so I wrapped the long sense lead around the relay coil several times. The higher voltage in a sparkplug wire, on the other hand, appears to be required. When it was wrapped around a fluorescent light fixture, I could trigger it for a brief moment. It would be fantastic to have a product that could be activated by something other than high-voltage induction. Direct wiring to a 12v or even 5v source is one example.
I've had it for about a month and a half and it still doesn't turn off when the mower isn't in use. It was simple to install, and the price was excellent, but it simply stays on! Because the device is sealed, there is no way to replace the battery if it dies. Other units will automatically turn off when there is no activity and turn back on when the device detects vibration, so this is not a good design.
Even when partially wrapped around spark plug wire sheathing, the induction system performs admirably. The meter could be effectively attached to the casing with just a few screws. I trimmed the wire to size without causing any problems, and after 45 minutes of testing, it counted correctly.
This took me less than 10 minutes to install on my new Craftsman R110 riding mower. I installed the display using the two mounting holes and the included screws, and it worked right away. I let it run for a while, and it displayed the appropriate run time; knowing the run hours will aid in mower maintenance.
It works great, is simple to set up, and matches my red Honda generator almost perfectly. It does not reset to zero, which is my only criticism. I double-checked it with my watch, and it appears to be correct.
This hour meter is simple to set up and use. Simply zip tie the coil five times around the spark plug boot. That is all there is to it. Keeps you informed about when your engine needs to be serviced.
