I set up the system as- is using a hollow bolt (for Cummins, sold separately), but had to lift the valve cover to attach the sensor during installation. After that, unless the forbidden flat blade screwdriver was used as a wedge to put undue side stress on the sensor, the plug would not seat and clear the valve cover. I decided that 1/8" npt fittings would be needed, so I headed to the hardware store. For a good fit on 6, I had to raise it two inches and then 90 degrees. Cummins 7 cylinder engine.
