Yes. I agree completely with this For this application, you'll need an hour meter that uses the ignition coil's pulse. It usually requires wrapping a wire around the spark plug wire several times, after which it registers hours when it detects an ignition pulse.
Yes. You're probably going to toss it. It's water and oil proof because it's sealed. It works flawlessly without the use of any wires. To me, this does not appear to be a bad deal. Simply take a chance.
If you need it to be battery-powered and wireless, I don't think so.
The back of the plastic or nylon is waterproofed with liquid urethane, making it nearly bulletproof.

But, as far as I can tell, it requires 6 minutes of continuous vibration to increment. When the vibration stops, any fraction of a minute that remains is not included in the total. If, like us, you have a machine that vibrates for short periods of time or stops vibrating for a brief period of time, this product may only occasionally or never increment in time.
If you're only using it on non-traveling equipment, this is a good hour meter to use. If you're buying something that will be transported, make sure to keep the following in mind: Motorcycles, portable generators, and small engines are all examples of small engines. The timer, as you might expect, starts ticking while you're on the move. Because there is no on/off switch, you must keep track of the hours before and after travel and subtract them from the actual time, which is a lot of unnecessary math when a simple on/off switch could be activated while traveling to suspend the timer.
For my 30-minute workout, I bought the same timer. I bought a five-gallon air compressor to keep track of my oil changes. Continue reading to see how we rated it. br> SENSITIVITY IN THE MEDIUM RANGE WAS SUITABLE: The timer is set to medium sensitivity because it must be installed vertically, but it had no trouble sensing the air compressor pump running as shown in the video.
- MOUNTING SYSTEMS WITH TWO SIDE TAPE: The unit's back isn't completely flat. As a result, I had to use two layers of foam 2 side tape to ensure that it stayed attached to the air compressor pump. The face of the air compressor pump was attached using 3M foam 2 side tape.
- FEEDBACK FROM VIBRATION SENSE: The timer worked well and detected the compressor running, and there is a small area of the display that illuminates when the timer is activated to provide you with some positive feedback that it is working.
- RESETTING THE TIMER IS NOT AN OPTION: It would have been nice if it could be reset, say during an oil change, but I can't seem to find a way to do so anywhere or on the device. br> - PACKAGE IS NOT COMPLETE: There was a large empty blister in the delivered package that was supposed to be filled with something, but it was empty. I have no idea what that was about. A screwdriver, perhaps?
- IF YOU NEED TO SNIP THE WIRE LOOP, FOLLOW THESE INSTRUCTIONS: I was fortunate in that I had read the instructions, because the unit must be activated by snipping the wire loop.
- LIFE ON THE GO: According to the website, it has a two-year operating life, but I'll let you know if it stops working sooner. br>br>If this review was helpful to you, please vote "Helpful" using the button below.
Because it was not a good fit for my application, I gave it a three-star rating. Installation was simple, and it appears to function as expected, but you should think about your intended use before purchasing. br>br>I was ecstatic to discover this product because I have a very quiet generator that is well insulated and would be difficult to connect to a standard hour meter. I ran the generator at the garage for a few minutes after it was installed to make sure it was working, and it was, which pleased me. br>br>I then loaded the generator into my trailer, and when I pulled it out, it had counted the driving hours as run time for the unit, distorting the actual use time significantly. br>br>If you have a piece of equipment that you use in a single location (like a snowblower at your house), this is probably a good solution for you, but if you're transporting that equipment from place to place, like I do, a vibration activate.
Because it does not need to be wired, it is wireless. The spark plug cable is connected to this device. It's accurate enough to calculate generator maintenance intervals in hours. Using the provided 2 screws, attached to the plastic surface of an inverter generator. RTV or any other plastic-based installation could be considered as an alternative. glue that can be removed from plastic I'm going to purchase it once more.
This is a well-built unit that was easy to install with double-sided tape (which was not included). This unit was installed on my new Champion 3400 dual fuel generator (as seen in the photo). Both high-speed and ECO (low-speed) operation are supported by the unit. I used the tape first to make sure it worked, and I'll add the two screws (included) later if necessary. The Champion generator is a low-vibration generator, but this hour meter works in any configuration, including gas, LP, high-speed, and low-speed. There is both a load and no load.
This is being used to keep track of hours on a vertical CNC that lacks an hour meter. We had problems because it wasn't mounted in a vibration-free location. We also discovered that in order for it to count consistently, it must be mounted directly to the item. As a result, there will be no double-dipping. foam tape with two sides.
The following are the only drawbacks: The battery cannot be replaced because it is completely sealed, and the numbers are small. But it was incredibly simple to set up, and my Makita compressor's run time is extremely accurate. I put it on top of the switch box, which vibrates a lot more than the rest of the compressor. It was money well spent.
