We come home every night and leave it on over night and so far on weekends as well. It was received in June of this year. It has been used on our RV from time to time last year. Occasionally, a week will come by. As of the end of May 2020, we are living full time in our RV, and this storage area has been used full time to store tall items and act as an extra refrigerator. The unit is powered by 12 volts. Then pulls 3, and some more. There are 5 amps in 5. When it turns on, it will be set to 38 degrees and can rise to 40 degrees before it turns on, and it can go down to 36 degrees when it turns If you want to know the hidden setting, check out the reviews. The unit has been sitting on the floor of our RV for the past two years on the roads of NY, PA, OH, and NH (lost two hub caps off the truck and two off the RV), so it has seen a lot of abuse from the road. It's been running for 5 months and is still going. According to the temperature set point, the unit operates either as a cooler or a freezer, but not both at once. As you just mentioned, I have it plugged into a 12v port that is appx 12 feet from the batteries (12 ga wire), and the cord on the unit is appx 9 feet long and looks to be 12 ga, therefore, the voltage drop would be 2 to 3 volt. When running, 5 volts are consumed, so if you set the battery protection setting to 12, that's what you would see. The power will be cut off at 5 p. m. For mine, I put the lowest number, 9, on the scale. I am 6V. I am able to operate with battery voltages of 12 volts and above without any issues. The battery has a voltage of 1 volt. The product seems to be a good one for the most part that is hard to beat for the most part. )

<<<<<LAST but not least, I am going to wrap this up by saying. . If you have not plugged the product in for at least 12 hours after its arrival, you should. This is why. Take it out of the box, open the lid to let air out, and then let it sit for the day. It could have been put in a truck upside down ( I found mine on the front porch upside down despite the UP arrow). When you start it up, this allows the oil to go to the right place. Having an 8CF refrigerator to begin with, it has been quite the treat to have storage space for things like 3 containers of OJ and 2 quarts of milk when we go to places like Costco.

Since the bottom will get some moisture when you leave it on the porch for a while, make sure to pull out everything and give it a thorough cleaning occasionally, especially before a big Costco trip. In the event that I was going to replace it, I would go with the larger two-section unit, the Alpicool T60, since it has a larger freezer and reduces the refrigerator's I'm satisfied with how things are going.

This fridge/freezer has been running continuously for 14 days now. I bought a new Optima Yellow Top starting/deep cycle battery resulting in the frig running for 12 hours overnight in 90 degree high humidity weather with barely any drain on battery power. Recently, we used this refrigerator on the Texas coast for five days at Port Aransas, and it was flawless. The jeep was used to transport food and beer, and once we got to the condo, to store ice cream and ice. Since we are back at home, we are storing beer in it. Beer does not freeze at 32 degrees, so you can set the temperature in this fridge to 27 or 28 degrees. At 28 degrees and with beer that is considerably colder than what you have been serving out of the refrigerator in your kitchen. We will update our review in a couple of months, but for now, I give it three thumbs up.

My battery would have been drained too quickly, as I had originally thought. I cannot believe how much power this fridge uses. When I drive the van one time a day, I do not drain the battery at all. The fridge has a safety system to shut off the power in the event of low voltage, but it was never used. I spent 8 days in Glacier National Park without experiencing any ice. My food was never soggy. There are a lot of cold drinks available. Ice is no longer necessary to buy from a store. Since then, I built a sliding tray under the camper bed that allows it to be stored. br>Have to say I love.

I had an Amazon "Fulfilled" order come to me with a used defective unit (a problem that has been occurring more frequently). A response from Alpicool was not forthcoming. There were several problems with the unit (older model), it did not work on DC, and the compressor cover was defective.

Using less power and being quiet, it consumes little energy. Since I had a Dometic in my previous van, I have some experience with them. As for which I should get, I wasn't sure if the C50 or the CF55 was better. It's more common to get the CF55 due to its larger size at the same price. I went with the C50 because of three 2) The lid should be able to open in whichever direction you desire. To do this, use a screwdriver to move the hinges. 1) There is a single compartment instead of There was a little small area on my Dometic like the CF-55. As for its usefulness, I found it a bit lacking and would prefer having one huge section. I think the stainless exterior looks great, perhaps better than the plastic exteriors.

3) Smaller removable handles and not quite as long. My thoughts are that the controls are simple and easy to use. The Dometic did not display battery voltage, and I love the fact that it does. The downsides are As soon as the unit was mostly empty, I put a thermometer inside the unit and found a dramatic change in temperature. It is impossible to compare the Dometic with this, since I did not do this. As long as it averages out, I'm not concerned, but if you need an extremely steady temperature, it may not be the best option. When it is full, I expect that it will be ideal. As this was in Eco mode, I don't know how it would compare in My next update will be an update after I try again.
