Questions & Answers

It is possible to paint this product? The color chart does not appear to be linked.?

As long as it is prepared correctly, I think it can be painted. In our case, there was no need to paint.

Is it possible to make these for a Chevrolet Silverado C2500 from 1998?

A plastic cap overlay for the 1997 1998 Silverado is available at Dash Covers Plus

Is gray the color you want?

The light gray color does not exist. There is a dark gray tint to the Agate. I consider the Mist Grey to be a light gray in between medium and dark In non-lightening terms it isn't a medium, but neither is it a heavy Smoke is the color I would describe it as.

You impressed me
5/5

The dash cover for my 2001 Dodge Ram was very impressive when I installed it. Friends and family found it difficult to believe it was a false Even after spending a few days in 80+ degree days and heading to the mountains where it was exposed to sub-32 degrees, it still looks amazing and hasn't bent or warped after all that exposure We are at zero degrees. parts would squeak and clank but the dash muffled all noise with the exception of a few squeaks depending on the road I am driving on which could probably be easily repaired with a few drops of Armer All. I had no idea that the following tips existed until I did the actual install In order to get the best fit, I had to pull the cover toward myself or the best viewing area, even though the best fit was toward the window, but that exposed the front edges that needed to fit in the crease. It meant that certain areas needed to be pushed down and glued down, mainly at the window side of the dashboard. The front edges of the cover fully fit in the thin lip of the passenger side airbag compartment as well as just above the steering wheel. Ensure that the strip of cardboard between the window and the dash and the one between the door and the dash is as long as possible. Prepare a lot of heavy weights to be ready when the dash is put on so that the glue dries as tightly as possible on the front. I used hammers, wrenches, etc.
It took me about 3 hours from the time I took it out of the box to install it completely. This was including reading the directions, preparing the computer, and rereading the directions (that was very important here). My time would likely be about an hour if I had to do it all over again. I'm a perfectionist, but it might take longer than that. As you can see in the picture, the color of the dash cover appears more light blue than the rest of the exposed dash and airbag cover, but in natural sunlight they appear the same.

I was extremely satisfied with the quality and value of the product I like the way the dash looks
5/5

I have been very pleased thus We will see what happens in due time. As for the color, I ordered the Agate color, which was perfect for my 2001 Ram 1500. Likewise, it is a perfect match in terms of texture. Then, after removing the item from the box, I slipped it into place, and my wife thought it looked almost perfect the way it There was only one trimming I did to the cover I opened the holes near the windshield for the original mounting screws. The Xacto knife I used was a large one. There isn't an awful lot of material It might have been slightly better if I had been a little more neat. It was probably unnecessary to take this The decline of this 17-year-old company will probably also be related to something else Before removing the dash from my truck, I need to give it a proper wash. Still, I have less than I did ten years ago It is better-than There will never be a person who notices a perfect hole. Despite my best efforts, one tube of silicone adhesive did not seem to be As I mentioned, I actually used an additional full 3 oz tube, so twice as much as what was This probably means I put too large a bead on, but since it's going to permanently attach, I have to go by the "if some is good, more is Adhesive has hardly leaked from any part of the surface. It would have been more efficient and safer to use a cartridge with caulk gun to speed things up and err on the side of safety. The $10 you saved will be worth it relative to the purchase price and time invested. Earlier today I glued all of the loose pieces to the dash together. On all surfaces, I used Windex to clean minimally. Glue was applied in less than 30 minutes, and installation was completed within that time. There is all the fitting and blocking of the corner with cardboard and so on. After leaving it overnight, the dash was as good as new the next day. In the course of driving for a few days, no rattles or squeaks were heard. 2) The fit is almost perfect. While there are a couple places where the level isn't exactly right, I am still being very picky about it. It is all worthless after a week of agonizing over the color of your living room, the hours you spent on it will be history. It will never occur to you or even come to your mind. You can have a new dash for the same price. There is a concern about how it will fare over miles and rays of sunlight. My home state is Georgia, so the sun is a major issue for me. * * *Updates We all agree that the cover meets our needs. After a 3,000 mile trip and a few months later, it still looks like a normal cover. People who have seen it have not been able to tell it's a cover. We haven't heard a rattle since the night before. (There is a dash here. It is recommended.

Perfect fit for your needs
5/5

This is a Dodge Ram 1500. The dash cover that I chose was the best option for me after comparing all the options. It matched the color of the trim perfectly (look in the glove box for the code). It came with instructions and a tube of silicone that I didn't use, I used a cartridge instead. The dash had started to fall apart to the point where pieces were missing, so I assumed I would need a lot I used silicone and glued the cracks together under a layer of silicone and let it air dry. They recommend taping cracks to keep the dash together. In the morning I dry fitted the cover (huge recommendation), there were no areas that would not fit, but one might need to use a flat blade screw driver to get it into the little lip on each side side of the air bag. The other cupped flange is situated near the door on the other side of the glove box. To tap the sheet down didn't satisfy me, so I used 1/2 inch X 3/4 inch pieces of wood as leverage against the car seat in the truck and the part of the windshield that My pressure was focused on the area where the dash cover meets the airbag as well as other spots discussed earlier. In addition, I cut the cardboard box the box came in into approximate pieces. Using 4 X 12 strips folded into 4, I had sufficient thickness to pinch the windscreen cover together at the head. Keeping the silicone about 3/4 inch from both edges, I doubled the cardboard around the heat vents, like it mentions in the instructions. If you are using pressure on the openings, keep the silicone bead about 1. 5 inches from the edges. Likewise, I used the 10 to To pinch the side panels with doors, use 15 pounds of weights and 1 inch of foam. It is likely you will get a little silicone where you do not want it, but just let it dry and then remove it. I found that if I got some on top of the cover, some car cleaner (Armor all or the like) and a soft nylon scrubby pad would be sufficient to remove it. I am amazed at how well it turned out. Get this cover if you want to spend a little more. There is no reason to be disappointed. If I could, I would give these experts 10 stars!.

Despite temperatures over 90 degrees, a great product has sat out in the weather
5/5

We have two new products sitting outside in 90 degree weather and none of the glue has melted. My experience was that squeezing the silicon tube too hard resulted in it breaking on the end, just wiped in on the end.
