The dash fits seamlessly and it's hard to tell that it's not a brand new one. The installation process was simple and straightforward.
Instead of worrying about the painful effects of the tattoo remover, buy a giant tube of black silicone and cover your skin liberally with it. There is very little blood in the tube. If you take care not to get silicone too close to the edges, then the silicon won't ooze out and become visible when you press down. For some reason, the dash skin didn't stay on the dash until the silicon dried, so I used 6 quart bags filled with dirt to help. I had a new look to my truck's dashboard after having it painted.
The texture and color were perfect. Cleaning the dash after installation and before installation can be tricky, depending on what type of cleaner you use. There will be a peeling of the paint. The second thing is that I had to do a lot of trimming for the fit to be right. When using a razor knife it is best to avoid silicone, as it will leave a bad smell behind. You can cover it up with car freshener. In addition to running out of silicon, I needed to use epoxy and superglue where the items needed to hold better. Unless you remove the entire dashboard, it is impossible to remove the instrument cluster gauges once they are installed. It looks like you might want to cut off that part, and I was willing to help. Trimming has worn me out. I had to trim some more on the upper glove box because it was rubbing quite a bit. As it seems to have been a quick installation, I gave this a 3 star review. Likewise, I bought sand and put it in plastic bags for later use, and used cardboard boxes to brace areas. The total cost of everything plus your time was about 200 dollars.
I used books and small plastic coated dumbbells to add weight to keep it in place while it dried. After letting it cure over night, cut off the ends. A spot on the front of the dash needed more silicone and time to cure, but that was it, no other issues, and that was easily resolved by applying additional silicone and allowing it to cure for four hours. All in all, it was easy to install and there was plenty of silicone included.
This is a great tool to repair a cracked Chevy dash without spending a lot It has been a great day. Fits in very well with the The only way to determine that it is actually a dash cover is to look at it closely. Compared to the original cracked dash, this one is much better.
Thank you for making such a great In my 2009 GMC Sierra, when the dashboard started cracking a couple of months ago, I consulted the internet for a fix. Having waited for the third crack to start, I bought the item. Because I do not have Prime, I expected to have to wait a long time for the dash cover to arrive. The order arrived within three days, which I found surprising! It took me about 20 minutes to set it up after following the instructions. It had been suggested that I purchase an extra tube of sealant, but twice as many tubes of sealant were sent with the package that I didn't need to buy an extra tube. The fit was excellent during the installation! Luckily I had a few bags of smoker wood pellets on hand, which worked beautifully for holding the dash in place while the sealant set. There's a brand new dash on my car now! I am very pleased with the.
Despite the tight fit, the dress looks great and fits well. The product was very easy to install. I just followed the instructions and took my time, it covered the cracks in the factory dash of my car perfectly. If I hadn't done it myself, I might not have known it wasn't original equipment.
I am very In fact, I took mine out of the box and threw it on the dash, and it fit so well that it didn't even need to be glued. I had a problem with my upper glove box door catching the edges during the dry fit, so I got a blade and scraped them to free them up a little. It took less than an hour to install and I had a new dashboard after setup over night. The person who does not know I installed the cover would not be able to tell that it did not come from the factory like that. You can use the following tips In order to make sure that you don't slip the adhesive around, you need two people to hold the cover in place once the adhesive has been applied. It would be a good idea to use this fix to fix.
