There is an inch of space at the front edge of the bench seat where it extends. Apparently how much clearance you have between the seat and the shifter is what makes a difference.

With tons of storage inside, it fits great in my Crown Victoria. The only (minor) complaint I have is that the cupholders are just okay, I would have preferred better quality cupholders - Do not be deterred by the omission of the standard power buttons, this is the best aftermarket console I ever saw.
It fit perfectly in my 1990 C2500 with a manual transmission, now I have cup holders and a center console in a color that doesn't match the brown interior at all, but it doesn't look bad either. Highly recommended for anyone without cup holders and a bench seat.
The materials are of decent quality, and the fit is perfect.
This is a very high-quality product. I only wish it was available in more colors.
