I'm not sure, but it seems like a waste to me! I threw it to the ground, Since then, the lid has been easily removed (it simply pops out with the slightest bump). Getting it back into place is difficult! It's also not particularly heat resistant or retardant!
That, I believe, is correct. I had no trouble fitting it into a cup holder. I hope you find this information useful. I love this product so much that I brought it with me on a trip to Texas, where it was a hit with everyone.

It comes with two snuffers, but why do you need snuffers? With a snuffer, you can quickly and completely extinguish your cigarette before discarding it in the ashtray. You'll never have smoldering or a fire in your ashtray if you do it this way. For this reason, I tossed three car ashtrays. Who wants to leave their car with something on fire inside? This ashtray is made of metal and features two working snuffers, making it the easiest and safest ashtray I've ever used.
Unfortunately, I am not a fan of the smell, particularly that of an ashtray. I recently took this on vacation and was blown away by it. I tried a few others and they didn't work, but this one works. Your cigarettes will not fall out of the holder, there will be no odor when you close the lid, and it is simple to clean. It also doesn't resemble an ashtray in appearance.
